Gary Catronio, who is a salesman here, had been highly recommended and so I decided to give it a try. I was upside down in my loan on my current vehicle and it was time to figure out some options. I am a school teacher and a young woman on a tight budget. So we made an appointment with Gary and here is how it went. I walked around the parking lot a bit before entering the dealership and I saw a Lexus CT 200h with 90,000 miles that caught my eye. It was the only car I could afford in that lot and honestly I really did like it, high miles and all! Upon entering the actual lobby of the dealership we were greeted warmly at the front door and asked to wait for Gary in the lobby. There was free coffee and cookies (unlimited) while we waited as well as comfortable chairs and even a massage chair. When Gary came to greet us he was aware of who I was and what I might be interested. I told him my price range and asked his opinion on the CT had noticed in the parking lot. Gary was so knowledgeable on the car and was able to rattle off every detail I could ever want to know about the vehicle. His passion for his profession was apparent and actually made the process enjoyable. We test drove it, the car was impeccable, and I decided I wanted to go ahead and try to figure out a deal. I needed low payments and I had no money down and a current loan I was upside down in, as I mentioned previously. Needless to say Gary had his work cut out for him!! He had to try multiple times to get the bank to approve my loan but he didn't give up and worked for hours making the deal work. I never felt uncomfortable or like I was being taken advantage of, which is a huge deal at a dealership! I am a happy JM Lexus customer and honestly, I can't wait to go back to this dealership for my free car washes! I would highly recommend any friend or family member to have Gary Catronio help them find a vehicle. I NEVER thought I could own a Lexus and am truly happy with my purchase. I LOVE MY NEW CAR. Negligence With 170 Point Pre-Certified Owned Checklist I truly regret pushing my partner to buy a vehicle from these people. The sales person, Jerry was A fast talker but I thought he was going to be hone I truly regret pushing my partner to buy a vehicle from these people. The sales person, Jerry was A fast talker but I thought he was going to be honest. I had told my partner that it is much better to buy a preowned vehicle from a higher-end car dealership to avoid the pitfalls of dealing with a dealership that does not back up their sales with service. My partner is a quiet and humble man who does not like to make waves but he was sold something different than what he thought he was buying. I can verify that because I was there every step of the way. JM Lexus has refused to make things good ever since our purchase of a Lexus NX 200 on the last day of July. There's nothing worse than buying a certified preowned vehicle that truly no one bothered to ensure had what was checked off on the certified pre-owned vehicle list. This wasn't just an oversight or a simple mistake. We were constantly reminded of and sold on a 170 point checklist which the vehicle would have to pass in order to be certified. There are three signatures on this checklist. This is just gross negligence. And we only knew about it because one of the most important things on my partner's List of must-have's was rain sensing wipers. Not only do we find out there's no rain sensing wipers but other things are checked off of that list as well that are not part of this vehicle. JM Lexus policy is you can return the vehicle in 72 hours. Unfortunately our sales person had taken a vacation the day after we bought The vehicle and the sales manager, Brian was also on vacation. My partner made numerous phone calls and our sales person did return it finally when he returned from his vacation in Puerto Rico but was unable to do anything. We left messages for the manager who's response rate and actual final response just blew our minds away. We made it a point to go into JM Lexus knowing that the manager had returned and wanted to meet with him. We sat down and explained the problem. His first response was to patronize us and tell us that if he had bought a vehicle he would've checked everything off on the 170 point Checklist. I bluntly told him that it is not our job to check off everything on their checklist with three JM Lexus employee signatures. He then proceeded to ask us what we wanted him to do about it and I told him that we expect him to figure that out. He told us he did not have any vehicles on hand to do a trade and that he needed time. My partner and I told him that we are reasonable people and we can give him time but we expect him to come up with a solution. A week had passed and my partner made three phone calls to this manager and left three messages. As luck would have it, he managed to call back while I was in the vehicle and was on the Bluetooth speakers. He made it sound like he came up with a great idea to trade out the vehicle for another one in a different color that was a year newer with the same amount of miles which was one that we had already saw previously and did not want and then told us it would only cost us another $80 per month as though we should be spending more money to fix their problem! He then said there was nothing he could do for us. Really? A corporation the size of Southeastern Toyota can't do anything to make things right? We all know better than that. It's now been 50 days with no reach out from anyone at JM Lexus and the clock is ticking down on their chance to,resolve this for once and for all. We are furious with JM Lexus and will not hesitate to take this further if they don't do something. We have the phone calls and the documentation in hand. Three signatures on the 170 point Checklist that is absolutely incorrect shows negligence. Furthermore, how are we to know that there isn't safety issue here now if they just sign off on anything without checking. Thirdly, the managers response is absolutely unacceptable and he should be counseled on how to turn problems into opportunities to make people feel good about spending a large sum of money at the business he represents. We expect a response from JM Lexus or an officer of Southeastern Toyota if they are half the car dealership and corporation that they say they are. If not, we will not hesitate to get our attorney involved and go to the media besides social media and let them understand our story well so that JM Lexus may have to respond on camera to their negligence and lack of assistance. We are good people and we don't look to profit off of this or became famous off of this. We just want the service and the vehicles that they say they're selling. My partner works hard, drives forty miles each way to work and is a very kind, unassuming and humble person. He deserves better than this treatment in buying his first luxury vehicle. And, I won't just let him go away quietly like JM Lexus hopes he does. I will make sure he gets satisfaction out of this terrible transactional experience. We have the means and the connections and will reluctantly use them if forced to do so. We posted this review before the dealership opened this morning and got this immediate reply: Good Morning, Pete. We would like to thank you for taking the time to express your concerns. While this may be true for any Used Car sales my salesperson (Josh) made the process at least tenable. I ultimately did not end up with my first choice vehicle but he really helped me work through the deal and in the end I was satisfied with the vehicle and deal I ended up with. I will also add that Keegan in the Finance area also did a good job. I ALWAYS have to be very detail oriented when it comes to the dollar and cents and this was the first time ever that I didn't find 1 mistake between the sales process and the final number I signed. That alone should earn this dealership a 5 star. I only gave 4 b/c I really wanted the first vehicle (a 2014 instead of the 2013 I ended up with). More
