Abercrombie 871, We are sorry to hear that your experience in Finance wasn’t an exceptional one. We understand your frustration over how your anticipated federal tax credit for the purchase of an all-electric vehicle had to be applied. Unfortunately, the tax credit can be issued only to the owner of the vehicle. Since your vehicle is a lease, that tax credit goes to the manufacturer that owns the lease. Thus, the manufacturer honored the credit by taking the value of the credit off of your down payment at time of leasing. We apologize if the communication on how that federal tax credit can be applied legally wasn’t clear at the time of your lease.
