Overdue response. The vehicle issue described was discovered after a local dealer inspection after car was brought back home. I wanted to follow-up sooner but better late than never. The car did go through a full Jackie Cooper Porsche 100 point inspection and was shown at purchase. Due to my oversight, the car had a bad clutch and flywheel. Quick facts: 1. Test drove the car prior to purchase - yes 2. Weather conditions - below 20 degrees F with summer tires. 3. Driving Experience during test drive - drove casually due to low temperatures 4. After purchase experience - entered the highway and after 20 minutes of driving, the car was jumping revs in 6th gear on the highway around 60-70 mph. 5. Due to my ignorance, excitement and weather conditions - I assumed this was due to summer tires and low weather temperatures causing the wheels to lose traction. Hence, i carried on driving carefully. This would continue through the trip home, assuming its tires since it was -4F. 6. Back home - stored the car until warm weather took place and problem continued. 7. Porsche dealer inspection done - clutch and flywheel bad, out $5,500 In conclusion, all though the dealer took care of me, were polite and showed a 100pt inspection which assured me the car was in good condition. The repair set me back extra. Also, the documents for inspection were gone from my packet. Lesson learned. No matter how polite someone is and assures you everything is great, sometimes need to take a step back and do your due diligence on the purchase. Car has been repaired out of my own expense. Runs great and still love the car. Just hoped the dealer was more honest and transparent on such a necessary repair.
