I had the Check Engine Light of my 2009 Jaguar XF light up and took it to this dealer who sent it in to Jaguar. To cut the long story short the diagnosis was that they had to reset the computer (at 0 cost). It was a simple procedure for them. Why is it that when I get my vehicle back, the engine fan would switch on and keep running for about 5 minutes after I shut down the engine. Come to find out, they had ruptured the thermostat in the process, and now my car was running hot and the car would cool off itself by switching on the fan. Shortly after this repair, the CEL lights up again, I take it to the dealer who takes it in to Jaguar, and now I am told the car has a bad passenger side bearing that made it undriveable (I had absolutely no problems in my wheel or drive train prior to bringing it in to the shop. no noise, no clanking, no wobbling, nothing). Now all of a sudden the bearing is so bad that it makes a loud clanging sound and is strongly recommended I fix it . They were going to charge me nearly $2,000 to fix both the thermostat and bearing (a problem they created), and ensured that I left the car in their shop by telling me the car was undriveable. I decided to repair just the bearing (~$700), as at least, I could drive the car off their lot. With my car going off extended warranty shortly after the first "repair" where they possibly deliberately damaged my thermostat, I got my car back after having them replace my bearing just so I can drive off their lot with the exact problem that brought the car to their repair center in the first place. The level of service only screams incompetence. I love my Jaguar XF, but I can comfortably say, I will never buy a Jaguar ever again. It is not the car that's the problem, it is the dubious or incompetent mechanics at the dealer who do not have an honest bone in them. I feel straight up hosed by these people, and they will never see a red cent of my money ever again.
