There weren't any high-pressure tactics or efforts to upsell to a more expensive car. I'd buy from them again. More
Took longer than expected and required a return visit. The people I worked with at Jake Sweeney Mazda Service were kind and easy to talk to, and the repair ultimately was completed correctly. That's about The people I worked with at Jake Sweeney Mazda Service were kind and easy to talk to, and the repair ultimately was completed correctly. That's about the extent of the positive comments I have in regards to this experience. After confirming that the necessary transmission repair (found in a Mazda TSB) was covered under my extended warranty, I dropped the car off at Jake Sweeney Mazda on December 19 to have a service technician verify the need for the repair and contact the warranty company to initiate that process. When I heard back from the dealership, I was advised that they dismantled the transmission and verified the repair, and that the warranty company was leaving me with over $700 of out of pocket costs. The representative from the dealership was unable to provide me with additional information, and was not eager to do any additional research. I proceeded to find out for myself. After about an hour and a dozen phone calls back and forth between the dealership and the warranty company, I was able to determine that the dealership did not include several of the necessary parts in their quote to the warranty company (the parts were on the dealer invoice, but weren't included in the claim submitted to the warranty company). The warranty company needed to confirm that with the dealership, so I finally convinced the dealership to call the warranty company with the information I had provided. Subsequently, the entire repair was covered under the warranty. I'm still unsure why I had to do all of this work, rather than the representative from the dealership reviewing the claim and getting it corrected on my behalf. So on with the repair. This took much longer than anticipated - I had expected to have the car back after the New Year due to a wait on parts and the craziness of the holidays, but it wasn't until January 9 when I finally received a call advising that the repair was complete, the car was test driven, and that I could come pick it up. I picked up the next morning, January 10. On my drive home, I noticed significant problems with the repair (problems that should have been noticed on a service tech's test drive), which led to me needing to return to the dealership once again. This time, they had the car for 2+ more weeks (with no updates along the way). I heard from the dealership the morning of January 25 to advise that the repair had been completely redone from scratch, the car had been test driven by several individuals, and that it was fixed. I thought we were out of the woods, so I told them I'd be over on my lunch break to pick up. I went to pick up the car, only to discover that one of the service employees left my key in another customer's car - now I'd wasted my lunch break and still didn't have my car back. They called some hours later to advise that the key was returned, and I went and picked up the car after work. I can say that they were extremely friendly throughout the entire process, but the lack of precision is disheartening. More
