I visited the dealership on Friday, March 7 to start my car purchase effort. Sean Davis was very helpful in finding me several makes and models to try on for fit. I thought that the Mazda 3 was the most car purchase effort. Sean Davis was very helpful in finding me several makes and models to try on for fit. I thought that the Mazda 3 was the most comfortable. While I was not interested in test driving he did convince me to do so, however this became a long process as the vehicles he wanted to show me each became unavailable. I did finally test a 2013 Mazda 3. He took my information and I continued my search. No follow up contact was made by Sean after that. Wednesday March 12 I e-mailed Sean a vehicle I was interested in driving that afternoon. I followed up with a phone call to see if we could arrange a time. Sean had customer appointments and I had a committee meeting for an Affordable Housing Organization so we decided to make the appointment to follow my Chamber of Commerce Board meeting on Thursday, March 13. I met Sean on Thursday as scheduled to find out that the vehicle I had e-mailed him was no longer available. He suggested another vehicle which we did test drive. He did accommodate my request to drive on the highway instead of surface streets again as this is a large part of my daily commute. While the drive was mostly satisfactory there were some minor issues which he assured me would be corrected. I asked Sean to discuss with his Sales Manager the best package they could offer and to contact me via e-mail or phone later that day. I was not contacted. I e-mailed Sean again on Friday, March 14 between 10 and 11 am to inquire on the car and the information I had requested, I also indicated I would be available only by phone after noon. After not receiving any contact I called the dealership to speak with the Sales Manager, Frank at around 1:15. I explained to Frank my frustration in the lack of communication and follow up that I had experienced to date. While Sean was to present my request to him on Wednesday he seemed to have no idea of that request. He asked me to come back in that day but I had made an appointment with a dealer in Columbus to drive another vehicle, as I had made that appointment I would keep it. He requested I not purchase any vehicle until I came back and met with him personally and he would work with me to get me the best deal possible and if not he would pay for my gas to go back to Columbus to purchase the other car. I agreed I would not make a purchase without meeting with him. Immediately following his call Sean Davis called me indicating he comes in at 1:30 on Friday so had just received my e-mail. He apologized for not following up with me the previous day. I told him I would have to get back with him regarding a time for Saturday, March 15. Sean called back just after 5:00 upon the request of Frank and we set an appointment for Saturday, March 15. On Saturday, March 16 my ride to the dealership was running a bit late so I contacted the dealership to let Sean know I would arrive half hour after our initial appointment time. The receptionist indicated he was not at his desk so she took a message to pass along. When I arrived at the dealership they were unable to locate him. Upon checking, the salesman discovered he had called in sick for the day. I asked to speak with Frank as he indicated he would be assisting me. Frank informed me that Sean was at the hospital and asked Paul to help me out as he had other customers. While Paul was pleasant he was thrown into a situation and provided no information so I was starting the process over. Once he was able to figure out which car I was interested in he took my information and said he would see what deal we were looking at since Frank had theoretically already been involved and was looking a best price for me. To say the least I was insulted when the proposal that was presented was the internet list price. We discussed price and I gave him my offer, he left and returned and asked what they would need to do to get my business. I indicated that we had just discussed that and he asked I initial that offer. He took that and at that point Frank appeared with the offer in hand. I did express to Frank my frustration that I had done as asked however when I came back in he did not meet with me as promised nor did he have any sort of proposal outside of what was advertised, also as promised. While I did purchase a vehicle I have regretted that purchase since before I left the dealership. Sean was helpful so long as I was in the dealership. Their follow up customer service is simply non-existent and they do not fulfill those things they indicate in conversations. As such I have and will continue to recommend those in the market for a vehicle do so at another dealership. More
I absolutely love my new Mazda6!! Catherine McMillian made the entire process of purchasing my new car a breeze. She was so attentive and on top of everything from the beginning to the end of the sale. made the entire process of purchasing my new car a breeze. She was so attentive and on top of everything from the beginning to the end of the sale. Catherine's personal touch made the experience even better. While I was signing the paperwork, she was decorating my new car with Thank you and Congratulations signs and had a gift bag full of useful car items in my passenger seat waiting for me! She then spent time going over car functions and taught me how to use my new blue tooth feature that i was so excited about...then we were off to the gas station and I was soon on my way home with a full tank of gas and my beautiful new car! I will send anyone I know that is in the market for a new car to Catherine McMillian at Jeff Schmitt Auto Group! More
I was in the market for a new car and was doing research on different makes/models, contacting several dealerships in my search process. I interacted with Angi Weiskittel and Justine Roxburgh when I contact on different makes/models, contacting several dealerships in my search process. I interacted with Angi Weiskittel and Justine Roxburgh when I contacted Jeff Schmitt Mazda. I was thoroughly impressed by the personalized way in which the staff, Justine in particular, interacted with me after my initial inquiry. Although I did not purchase a Mazda in the end, if in the future I consider a Mazda again, I would get back in touch with Jeff Schmitt Mazda. More
Sales staff was very nice and professional. But as soon as I drove the car off the lot I had $900 in repairs. I called the sales manager and asked if there was anything they could do, even fix it at cost. as I drove the car off the lot I had $900 in repairs. I called the sales manager and asked if there was anything they could do, even fix it at cost. But he said no that it was too bad for me... Before I bought it I had a feeling there was some issues with the steering but was told that the Jeff Schmitt service department checked it all out and it was in good condition. Yes, it was my fault to believe the dealership! Anyway, not a bad place to buy a car just DO NOT trust the service department!!! More

Went to the dealership to buy a new Mazda. After spending hours upon hours getting told flashy, bullet point descriptions about the car, we were told a fair and reasonable price for the vehicle. We did NOT g hours upon hours getting told flashy, bullet point descriptions about the car, we were told a fair and reasonable price for the vehicle. We did NOT get a written offer from the dealer, but did transcribe it on multiple pieces of paper. After getting our finances in order, we returned the next day only to wait around for 4(FOUR!) hours while the dealer entertained another customer and alternating between the two of us which seemingly resulted in both of ours dissatisfaction. We put up with the inconvenience only because we were excited to get the car. After another hour of running our credit, we were finally presented with a written offer and, much to our chagrin, it was $6,000 over the price we discussed the previous day. The dealer lasted about another 3 minutes before he realized what he did and ran off to get his manager, who told us it was all a miscommunication and put the blame squarely on US. Miscommunication or not, the manager decided NOT to reduce the price of the internet listed MSRP one cent, claiming he could not do anything. After asking multiple times to get a copy of the written offer to take with us, we were out the door, never looked back, and went the next day to Beau Townsend and got a new Ford. Here's a pro tip Schmitt, if you want our business, you ought to teach your salesmen and managers that nothing beats the age old customer service maxim: the customer is ALWAYS right. More
First of all, if you are at salesman Dave Temple's desk right now in the Jeff Schmitt Mazda's service center, the first thing you'll notice is just how many very good or perfect reviews are posted all desk right now in the Jeff Schmitt Mazda's service center, the first thing you'll notice is just how many very good or perfect reviews are posted all over his wall and desktop. That should tell you right there that you are in good hands with this guy, which is totally true. We bought a 2011 Civic from him today and we had been researching them all over the internet and at various car dealerships in the area, so we've had quite a bit of salespeople chomping at the bit when they see us. They are almost always pushy, spouting off about how they're going to make us a "ridiculous deal" or something of that nature and they are all very fake; not genuine at all. Dave on the other hand, was very cool and laid back; not pushy whatsoever and we like that about him. He was very knowledgeable and easy to get along with, while at the same time being very professional with us. You can tell that he actually cares and wants you to be happy. Our second employee who worked with us was Karma Ross and she is a very nice and personable lady. She was very friendly and professional as well and it was immediately apparent that she is great at her job as she was very knowledgeable as well. Jeff Schmitt Mazda is THE ONLY car dealership in the area that I would highly recommend, even the employees not directly helping us were super-friendly, great people. Oh yeah, and the price was also the lowest. The Honda dealership across the street? We're talking a few thousand dollars OVER Kelly Blue Book's retail value. They wanted two grand more for the car we got, and with more miles. Very judgmental and rude as well. Skip them and go straight to Jeff Schmitt. More
