I had a 8:00 Am appointment and it took two and a half hours to get a oil change and tire rotation because the guy wrote on the paper to be done at 10:20 Am. I thought the reason to make appointments was to get in and out ahead of walk in I seen a couple who came in and dropped their vehicle off with no appointmentand was done within a hour. On Wednesday Jan 29, 2020 my wife and I were prepared to purchase a preowned 2019 Nissan Tit Jenkins Nissan bad business practices Buyers BEWARE !!! On Wednesday Jan 29, 2020 my wife and I were prepared to purchase a preowned 2019 Nissan Titan we went to our credit union Railroad & Industrial and got a pre approved loan with Draft in hand we went to Jenkins Nissan in Lakeland Fl . This would have been our 2nd Titan from this dealership when we arrived we were greated by one of the top sales associates I will not mention his name however he did show us a vechile and we test drove it and agreed to work some numbers up. After 2 hours of back and forth pencils and finding out about the hidden dealer fee and a so called used car reconditioning fee that added close to $2,500.00 to my bottom line. We finally came to an agreement to purchase the truck our salesmen did all the paperwork we signed many forms including a buyers order and we also called and added it to our insurance. While waiting for the completion of the sales a sales manager came in ad asked if we would consider financing with them. I told them I had worked everything out with my credit union and it's not necessary. He looked at me and said well we probably could do a better rate and why not try. I said no it's all arranged. I personally don't like going thur the dealership and giving all kinds of personal information about ourselves to obtain a loan. He walked out of the office and we sat there for a while 10 maybe 15 minutes. Finally our salesmen shows up with the General manager who name is PAUL HOLLY he sits down and says to me that if we do not use their financing that he is not selling the truck to us. Wow I was flabbergasted shocked and in disbelief at this point . He repeated this again and I said I have a check in full for the purchase . He said if the financing is not our appoved lenders he won't accept it and he won't sell us the vehicle. At this time I told him I was calling my loan officer and put her on the speaker phone and he told her that if we don't use their lenders we would not be getting this vechile. She said that this is bad business practices and not the way to treat customers. She referred this to what they call ( Tying ) What is Tying : Tying is an often illegal arrangement where in order to buy one product , the consumer must purchase another product that exists in a separate market. My loan officer said to me find another dealership to do business with NO ONE should be treated like that. I hung up and I asked the PAUL HOLLY the General Salesmanager for the paperwork that we signed and he refused to give it to us. Also I asked for his business card and he refused to give one to us. I cant believe after all this we were told once again if we don't finance with them we need to leave. WOW at this point there were customers and salespeople all around and you can see the disbelief on their faces how we were talked down too. We got up and walked out of the dealership in disgust. Everything was great. They got me in and out in under an hour. Only suggestion would be even the most basic oil change places check things like brake wear and rotate tires for free. Great place to lease a car! This is a great dealer to Lease a vehicle and service is usually very good. However yesterday, February 6th was not the best day for service. After 2 hour wait had to go and ask the cashier where my car was and she had to go find my service agent (Angel) to find out car was finished and sitting in the pick up line. He helped me get the deal I needed and went above and beyond to make sure that the sale was a success and that Justin was great from start to finish. I had been to many other dealers and this was the first where I felt comfortable and like Justin was listening every step of the way. After the sale was complete, he helped me set up bluetooth, made sure the car was exceptionally clean, and that I understood all of the features. By far the best salesperson I have ever dealt with.
