My "appointment" time was at 7:45am on Tuesday, December 26th. My car was dropped off the night before. I was called around 9:15 by Kayla to talk about the service. My car sat there until Thursday at 1 when 26th. My car was dropped off the night before. I was called around 9:15 by Kayla to talk about the service. My car sat there until Thursday at 1 when I was called and told a technician had finally been assigned. I finally picked my car up on Friday around 3:45. I had no communication on Tuesday or Wednesday. I texted the number and called and no one responded back. I finally had to get a ride up there to get answers. They told me Kayla was off, that's great but also not my problem. Someone else should have been communicating with me, if that was the case. I asked for a rental on Wednesday, they didn't have any. Jim Butler called me Thursday and said they had one, but it's $70/day. Jim Butler is running a scam operation. They give you an appointment time, but that's not when they'll be looking at your car-its only a time to talk to your advisor (my advisor was an hour and a half late calling me). Then they let your vehicle sit on the lot for 3 days before assigning an advisor because they're behind, and then you have to pay for the rental. In my case, they were also working on a recall. Why do I have to pay for rental? Chevrolet put a recall out on my car, that's not my fault. Also, the other reason my car was in the shop was for a warranty reason....why they didn't even fix because the same issue happened again. More
It took over 2 weeks for them to even get to my car to diagnose. Once that was completed they were upset that we could only afford to get the work that was under warranty completed by their service center diagnose. Once that was completed they were upset that we could only afford to get the work that was under warranty completed by their service center. I was waiting outside in the cold for a half an hour for them to bring my vehicle up to the front. I finally went inside to ask about it and they said they figured eventually I would come back in! WTH! So rude, patronizing, and was an overall terrible experience. So not impressed with Jim Butler in Fenton. More

I had an antifreeze leak and scheduled an appointment for 10am on a Tuesday for someone to look at it. I only have one vehicle, so I was shuttled back home. Nobody called me to give me an update the whole da 10am on a Tuesday for someone to look at it. I only have one vehicle, so I was shuttled back home. Nobody called me to give me an update the whole day, so I had to call Jim Butler. My advisor didn't answer and didn't call me back after leaving voicemail. Instead I had to call another person at the service desk and they left a note for my advisor to call me. I had to wait another hour before I was called and told that nobody had looked at my car all day. I asked for a loaner and was told that the dealership does not do free loaners and I would have to rent a car for $75/day. I said, fine, but then my advisor told me that the dealership was out of rentals right now. It took 3 days for me to be offered a rental. And even at that point NO ONE HAD LOOKED AT MY CAR. 3 days and nobody even checked to see what the problem is with my vehicle so I could get some kind estimate. What is the point of scheduling an appointment if you're just going to hold the vehicle for a week? I refused the offer for a rental and got permission from work to work from home while my family's groceries dwindled. There was no way I was paying Jim Butler anymore money after being made to wait this long, and I still wouldn't get any word about my car UNTIL FRIDAY. My car needed an $80 part, and after being assured that the car would be ready on Friday, I received a text stating that the part that was in stock at their shop was defective, so they had to order one, which meant waiting the entire weekend. And through all of this, my advisor was unreachable. I was always the one who had to call asking for an update, and even on Friday all he did was send me a text message that evening rather than call me back. When my car was finally repaired on MONDAY, after 4pm, the bill was over $600, my work was frustrated with me not coming in for almost a full week, and I was told by the Jim Butler advisor that there were no shuttles available to bring me back to the dealership. I had to ask a neighbor to drive me back. And to top it all off, when I got my car home I found that there was a $5 Target gift card missing from my glove box. I bought this car a few years ago at Jim Butler Chevrolet, and my family currently needs a 2nd vehicle, so we were going to start shopping around in January. We will definitely not being buying from Jim Butler again after the experience I had with the service department. If I schedule an appointment, I shouldn't have to wait 4 days for someone to even look at my car. And I shouldn't have to beg the service desk to give me an update. And stealing money out of my vehicle was really the last straw. The only good thing to come out of this is my neighbor who drove me over to the dealership recommended the name of a good mechanic to take my car to in the future. More
