After receiving an unsolicited offer from Jim ellis Toyota for a 2022 prius because they wanted my 2019 prius, they provided the most impersonal fast service using misleading terms to approve the deal Toyota for a 2022 prius because they wanted my 2019 prius, they provided the most impersonal fast service using misleading terms to approve the deal. I asked if the new car had remote start and they replied yes it has remote services, online it indicates MOST new toyotas after 2019 have remote start. It seemed safe to assume remote start is a feature of remote services. This was a major selling point. Furthermore the app currently dislays the option to remote start, lock and unlock as does the demo at the start of the app. However, once the app starts the feature does not display. Given I was not initially in the market for a new car (and was not in a position time-wise to devote my attention to the feature) I spent a few moments intermittently the first few weeks attempting to activate my remote start. Finally I contacted Toyota and provided my Vin number to find that this particular prius did not contain the feature despite most of the other ones did. i notified jim ellis of my dissatisfaction as this was a major selling point for a new car since I was already in new 2019 prius with many of the same features. As a "valued customer" who has purchased four new cars with them, they agreed to pay half of the cost to install the feature. The sale of the vehicle took place in April, I notified them about the Issue at the start of May and they agreed to install feature at the beginning of June, Now, in August I have yet to receive any notification of where and when this feature will be installed despite I have called and inquired about this on numerous occasions.. It appears that they told me whatever they needed to say at the moment to neutralize the situation with no intention of following through on their commitments. Best to avoid doing business with this company if this is the way they treat their preferred customers who have purchased multiple vehicles from them I can only imagine what it would be like as a new customer. Be cautious! More
