Went to various Toyota dealers, and had a good experience with Josh Bushyhead at Fowler Toyota, but for personal reasons chose to buy a second Tundra from Jim Norton instead. Part of the reason I decided on with Josh Bushyhead at Fowler Toyota, but for personal reasons chose to buy a second Tundra from Jim Norton instead. Part of the reason I decided on Jim Norton this second time was the effectiveness with which the salesman (Don Ward) and the finance guy (Hans Hulsman) were able to work together to get me the truck I wanted at the price I needed. This combination of the sales person and the finance guy is one of the uncovered and overlooked dynamics of whether a car deal works out for the customer, or becomes a traumatic bait and switch ordeal. Trust me, I know all about that experience.. Don was willing to sell me what I wanted, but Hans was able to order creatively the product at the cheapest price possible, and not confuse me with tactics. It was fast, effective, and they spoke to me like I was an adult. The monthly payment ended up far smaller than at two other dealers, and it included more upgrade options. I have learned that the finance people are not usually there representing the customer. And the finance people are sometimes not even on the same team as the sales person. I've had some unbelievable experiences in that regard. But Hans and Don both come from a dealership where they had negative experiences, but are now both working at Jim Norton Toyota. They trust each other, and they do things simple and straightforward. Don, my salesman is an older gentlemen. My fishing buddy told me he has known Don nearly forty years since college, right here in Oklahoma. I don't know anything about Hans except that Don worked with him before and trusts him. And that I watched him price me and order things in the most knowledgable and creative way to save me money. I really appreciate when someone more competent than I am at something, uses that gifting to help me rather than work me. I definitely know the difference. These people are no longer my sales people. They are my friends. Jim Norto Toyota, Don Ward and Hans Hulsman. For now, they are the only folks I need to talk to unless Rob Latham wants to get involved. Another good guy. I went in today to the sales department and he was the first one to acknowledge me. He was very nice and helpful. I actually needed help with something in my car. He told me that I might of had to go to the next department across from the sales department but first he stated that he could try to help which to me means a lot because he could have easily not tried to help and just send me to the next department but he first decided to try to help me. Which he did and solved the problem. I am very pleased with his customer service. He did more that what he should have. He thoughtfully considered the vehicle criteria that were important to us. He expertly steered us to a number of vehicle options that met our criteria. He genuinely wanted us to find the right vehicle for us, irrespective of whether he had that car available. We are thrilled that we ended up with a 2014 4Runner that perfectly suits us. From the first moment we contacted Jim Norton Toyota of Tulsa we were treated with the utmost respect and kindness. We were greeted on arrival and quickly knew we were in the right place. We were offered comfortable seating and waiting mere moments until we were shaking hands with Richard. He was a friend from the start. Just truly a nice guy. He quickly took us to the car and I fell in love with it on first sight. He was very informative on the test drive, explaining all the features and taking care to answer all of our questions. We were then taken back to the dealership to see "Shaggy". He explained all of the paperwork and worked with Nick Jones to arrive at a payment plan we could easily work with. Nick definitely went the "extra mile", as did "Shaggy", in getting our payments right where we needed them to be. We also were able to purchase warranty, which gives us insurance against major repair costs. Richard, Shaggy and Nick were a team of friends who worked with us to make this purchase pain free.
