My experiences with Knauz began when I had an older model 5 series that needed repairs. I had just located to the area and still had an out of state registration, DL, etc.. The service department at Knauz hooked me up with a very nice loaner car while mine was being repaired. The service to the 5 series was performed on time, I was kept well informed during the progress and the cost was reasonable. I knew that I would need to trade my 5 series for a different vehicle soon, one that would handle the cold climate and snow and I knew when that time came I would return to Knauz to purchase because of my wonderful service experience. My relationship with Knauz and the fine people there began early on in the service department and I knew without a doubt or without looking to other BMW dealerships that Knauz would be the dealership I would purchase from. I had done my homework before I arrived for my appointment to purchase a new vehicle. I was pretty sure I wanted an X5 and the features I wanted. I was greeted by a friendly client advisor named Adam. Adam's professionalism and knowledge of BMWs were very impressive. He encouraged me to test drive an X3, a 6 series and the X5, all with different engines, features, etc.. Adam did a very thorough job of making sure I purchased exactly the right BMW to meet my needs. I did something I have never done in my lifetime, I ordered a BMW X5. I was thrilled. And I have been extremely happy since my purchase. My ordered vehicle arrived in about two weeks and the love affair began. Sadly right after I purchased my new X5 I had a minor fender bender. Now I would unfortunately get to experience another aspect of Knauz BMW..the body and repair shop. Once again it was all five star service. I was kept well informed of the progress of my repairs and my vehicle was promised and delivered on time. Another phenomenial experience at Knauz. Being a business woman myself I value other businesses who offer top notch quality products, service, sales persons, friendly staff and impeccable business values. Kuddos to Knauz! You guys rock! I visited Knauz very late on a Monday evening, just before they were about to close. Despite the late hour, Judy Powell took extra time with me to provide all of the information I requested regarding a before they were about to close. Judy's follow up that evening and the next day before I returned to purchase the vehicle (and sell my then-current car) was terrific. No undue pressure, just a commitment to excellent service. I found the same to be true of both the pre-owned representative valuing my car (Kurt) and the finance representative(John). I would return to work with Judy and the entire team again in a heartbeat. We went in to have our 2008 BMW 328 serviced and while We went in to have our 2008 BMW 328 serviced and while there ended up purchasing a 2011 328 courtesy car. We thoroughly inspected the car and only found a trim ring on the nav controller damaged. To close the deal, we asked to have the windows tinted and the controller ring repaired. We were told the car would be ready by Friday and at this point had no problems with Knauz. When we came to pick the car up 2 days later the problems began. The car was getting the windows tinted on Friday and we told Judy that we could wait until Monday but she said she would have it ready that day. We live about an hour away and got a call around 3pm that the car was being detailed and would be ready at 4pm. We arrived at Knauz around 5pm and they close at 6pm. The car was covered when we arrived with a big bow on it. When Judy removed the cover the first thing we noticed was the smudges on the side of the car that my wife had left when we had inspected the car two days before, we even found a half filled water bottle under the seat,so the car was definately not detailed. The window tint was done and Judy told me they had to replace the whole unit in the center consol to fix the sharp piece. When I opened the passenger side door I immediately saw a very noticeable gouge on the door panel. I showed this to Judy and she said that was there before and that "I was handy, you could fix that". We were rushed through the finance department because they were closing. On the drive home I asked my wife if she had seen the gouge. She said it was not there before. We are both convinced that the damage happened after we inspected the car, probably when the console was replaced or the window tint installed. There is no way I would not have noticed it when I was kneeling at the passenger door showing Judy the control knob. On Monday we spoke with Judy and she informed us they would not repair the panel and had me talk to Phil the sales manager. He said he would look into it and called me back saying he would split the cost of repair with me. We feel that Knauz should cover the entire repair because the gouge happened in their possession. We think they were just in a hurry to get the car sold and wanted it done that Friday. We don't understand why a reputable dealer would want to jeopardize their reputation and lose a loyal customer for a part they could switch out and/or replace to make us happy to return and purchase future cars with them.
