This was my 4th Volvo from KARP but my first time dealing with Mike Kelly. Mike really is a true professional with great customer service skills. I don’t have a job where I’m at a desk, so me & Mike we’re with Mike Kelly. Mike really is a true professional with great customer service skills. A LUXURY CAR WITH NO LUXURY SERVICE Prior to my Volvo, I had two Lexus vehicles. Both were less expensive then my Volvo now. When you get your car serviced at Lexus, you get a sandwich Prior to my Volvo, I had two Lexus vehicles. Both were less expensive then my Volvo now. When you get your car serviced at Lexus, you get a sandwich wrap, a barista to make you coffee and a nice car wash. You can also get an appointment any day with no wait. At Karp Volvo, I had to wait a few days for an appointment. Not the end of the world. My appointment was 10:15am Saturday. I showed up and explained to the service man that the car was in dire need of a car wash. I even said if it does not come out clean I will wait longer for them to run it back through. I told the man I was going to walk into the RVC town while I waited. About an hour into the service, he called me and said my car needed rear break pads. I laughed and said no way can that be true. I had two Lexus vehicles which both had over 40k miles and I never put breaks on the car. He explained to me that Volvo cars come with smaller break pads on the rear. (what??? That is insanity). I declined to have the pads put on because if the car does need rear break pads that is a scam from Volvo itself. Around 12:20pm, the man called me and said my car was done. I was down the block and said I would be right there. I came and my car was still dirty. I asked the man if it had its car wash. He said the tech was at lunch and he could give me voucher for a car wash because it was supposed to rain.. I said I would wait for the tech to come back. Another employee was there and he said he would take the car. The man took the car and it came back. The exterior was still a little dirty but not the end of the world. I got into the truck and the inside was still dirty. I went back in and asked if they cleaned the inside. The two men said that they do not clean the inside... It was now almost 1:00pm (my appointment was at 10:15 - I had my oil changed and tires rotated) which was almost 3 hrs now. Three hours for a oil change, tire rotation, and half a car wash.. that is now crazy but not the end of the world. When I got my Volvo it was more expensive then my Lexus car and truck. I never expected that I would pay more for a vehicle and get worse service. I drive a $52,000 truck and Volvo can not even clean the inside during a car wash.. After I left, I called Volvo in Glen Cove. I asked if they cleaned the inside during the car wash. They said they did. The car wash is a small item but its something Karp Volvo can do better on. The break issue is much larger. Does anyone know who I can contact for that? How do you put smaller break pads on a vehicle so people have to change them more often to make more money? The employees in the service center are fine humans. This is an issue with the service center itself. More
