This collision center was referred by Geico, it was closest to the location of the accident (which btw was 100% not my fault). My car was there over a month, with over $5K in repairs needed. We had few updates from them the first few weeks, and then at 3.5 weeks get a call from Marshall stating my car was ready for pick up even though there was now a dead battery, and 2 warning lights on the dash they couldn't figure out how to fix/make go away (tire pressure sensor and hatch latch sensor). They said it was a 3 year old battery and is considered "a wearable part". We told them the battery was placed within the last 2 years and is supposed to last 6, and they need to replace it, as well as remedy the warnings on the dash- my car is not ready for pick up! After several back and forth phone calls personally (Marshall was professional but of no real help, and Ivan the manager was completely unhelpful and unprofessional) and through the Geico adjuster, they replaced the battery and into the next week finally fixed the sensor issues. The worst of this whole experience was when we were finally able to pick up my car last week and met Ivan. Mind you this was the week Covid-19 ramped up with closures/job losses etc. in our state, and I was aware Marshall had been out sick. I asked Kendra the receptionist to verify the issues had been remedied before I pay my $500 deductible and take my car. Ivan comes around the corner, shoving a chip in his mouth, then removes my fob from their key ring and hands it to me. This was COMPLETELY insensitive to the current situation!! He stands there for awhile looking at our paperwork, as if he wasn't all too familiar, never greeting us or even looking at us. Takes us out to the car, goes through the list and points out items that were repaired or replaced. States the hatch was replaced, which fixed the sensor issue (why wasn't that done to begin with?), tire pressure sensor issue resolved, and the battery was replaced at HIS COST, and that "most anywhere else would've told you to go pound sand, but I replaced it bc I want to keep you as a customer". Really?!? This whole interaction was made SO uncomfortable by his demeanor- he was so angry and rude. His contempt was palpable- it's as if he just put all of his anger and frustration in life on us. We couldn't believe it, we actually said to each other later we wondered if we had been filmed and it was all a joke. I always keep in mind that we never know what people are going through in life, but there was NO EXCUSE for how Ivan treated us. I left with my car below E, and didn't know if I would even make it to the gas station 1/4 mile down the road. Instead of feeling reassured and relieved my car was fixed and was in good hands, I left feeling worried what this guy might've done to my car. After driving it the past few days, as far as I can tell, everything is fine. I spoke to John Segal, the GM at Kearny Mesa Chevy, and he expressed concern and understanding of our experience, and said he would speak with his team. I also contacted Geico to share our experience- they apologized and said this colission center is new to their list, and unfortunately they still have some cars there they're dealing with. Sounds like they'll take this place off their list. More

1. Told the sales lady I'd buy the car for 10k our the door, we agreed and shook on it. Two hours waiting to get into finance office and the amount was 400 more out the door. 2. Another 2 hours with the F door, we agreed and shook on it. Two hours waiting to get into finance office and the amount was 400 more out the door. 2. Another 2 hours with the Finance lady who wouldn't let me have bottom of title (release of liability) for my trade, got a letter from dmv today suspending registration for my trade. (they never took it out of my name). 3 GM Certified warranty wasn't turned in to GM, so when I smelled coolant the first day I got home it spent a month in the shop waiting for the warranty to get put into the system with GM because this dealer dropped the ball. 4. They must skip the heater when inspecting certified used vehicles. Ended up being a leaking heater core. They lost 4 stars, and earned this rating. Will not shop here again, don't recommend you do either. More
With the increasing gas prices thought it was time to look at a hybrid car. Found exactly what I was looking for at Kearny Mesa Chevrolet. From the initial contact to Khoi to the purchasing stage with look at a hybrid car. Found exactly what I was looking for at Kearny Mesa Chevrolet. From the initial contact to Khoi to the purchasing stage with Randy, everything was super smooth and easy. Randy and Shaunda ended up staying after closing to help with the purchase of the Chevrolet Malibu. Super happy with Kearny Mesa Chevrolet and would definitely recommend and purchase from them again. Thank you all for the positive car purchasing experience. More

We bought a car that we could not see and we were told that it was a non smoker, had a 240v level 2 charger, and no scratches, this was not true. We spend over 20k based on the sales persons word and he that it was a non smoker, had a 240v level 2 charger, and no scratches, this was not true. We spend over 20k based on the sales persons word and he unfortunately was not telling us the truth. The car smells like smoke from the AC, scratches throughout and it takes 12 hours to charge which makes it as expensive as gas with SDGE with only a price break for 6 hours a night. Once you pay them it’s impossible to get a call back and they ignore you when you stop in. This was a horrible experience. More

Have not heard a peep from their service department for a week letting me know what is the problem and when can I expect my car back. Called a couple of time to inquire the status and all they could tell me is that they need to take apart the transmission and evaluate it. The was exactly the same statement they gave me the day I dropped off the car. A week later I left the service manager several messages to call me and provide me with a status. Have not heard from him either. The only reason I took the car there is because the transmission is under warranty. I recommend if you have a choice for car service and repair, Kearny Mesa Chevrolet should not be you first choice. More
Hmmm, how do I even start? If you want to have the experience we had here at “Jimmy Johnson Chevrolet” now “Kearny Mesa Chevrolet” don’t come here (see Photos)GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! Purchased a 2019 Sil experience we had here at “Jimmy Johnson Chevrolet” now “Kearny Mesa Chevrolet” don’t come here (see Photos)GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! Purchased a 2019 Silverado from these guys on September 21st. Sales man: Anthony Alvarez. After I made my purchase the very next morning the engine light turned on (Well there goes the buying a new car experience) and took it in right away. Manager said, “it might be the gas cap?” Wait, the Silverado doesn’t come with a gas cap. I was given a loaner car so they could do a diagnose on the truck and left it there. Drove the loaner truck to Murrieta. Got a call the next evening saying that there was a failure on the battery cable and it was sending the wrong codes, but they had fixed it. So I got off work early and drove down (from Murrieta) to pick up the truck. Mr. Alvarez asked if there was anything they can do for the inconvenience etc. I said, “Yes, I’ll Take the all weather floor liners,” because I didn’t want the cheap floor mats that truck came with.” Was informes that they will get shipped to my house in Murrieta. GUESS WHAT? I got sent the same EXACT ones that the truck already had. Now, trying to get them replaced for the ones I wanted etc has been a hassle. They want me to pay for the shipping or DRIVE BACK down (1 hour) and drop them off because the $27 to ship back is to “expensive” for them. Wow, I didn’t know Chevrolet was that poor! I called Anthony several times and he stated that he will call me back when they received the liners. It’s been 2 1/2 weeks and he hasn’t called back. I talked to his manager “joe” and he agreed to send me the floor liners etc. Still waiting. I then talked to Mr. Alvarez again and said that he can’t do anything yet because they’re now “Kearny Mesa Chevrolet” and not “Jimmy Johnson Chevrolet” and he can’t order parts that he promised. Called several times to get this fixed and they were always busy. I get it, they can be busy but I always left a message with the receptionist etc and I never got a call back from sales man Anthony Alvarez or Joe. Now, I wonder if GM John Segal knows about this? Or he might know about the promises his employees give and never come through. I should’ve looked at the Yelp and BBB reviews before I drove down here. I should’ve paid more for the vehicle in Temecula in order to avoid these hassle. Again, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! More
