5/1/24 -We came in and spoke with Shawn who immediately became defensive and said “ I got a few minutes before lunch, what do you want” As I was diving into the first part of the story, Shawn interrupted me and all he could say was you signed the contract, we have your signature, I can’t help you. With the same attitude that Mike gave us. I then asked for all the receipts and contracts that I supposedly signed for, which Shawn said he would print it out “right now” have a seat. As we are sitting there for an hour, I call APEX to explain to me, they said that the additional Apex Protection Plan was OPTIONAL and NOT MANDATORY, Why would I need to pay $4313 for APEX GPS TRACKING? - this a tracking device the dealership puts on their vehicles in case of theft, but then FORCE the buyer to purchase on top. If anything this should have been included into the total $48,500 price of the car we had shook hands on. APEX then told me well, they couldn’t cancel because you have 10 days after purchase to cancel. And I’m out of luck and resolve it with the dealership. Mike then returns and hands me 3 paper copies of each individual contract of APEX (paint, dent repair, GPS) that I supposedly signed and agreed upon. He didn’t hand me the 4th package (windshield repair agreement worth $1884 To my surprise this is the first time I’m seeing these contracts of $1880 paint protection, $1780 dent repair, apex GPS $4313. Every single one of these documents said that it was OPTIONAL add on and can be cancelled within 10 days. Why does the paper say optional but Mike insisted that these charges were MANDATORY? Even further to my surprise that these copies Mike just handed me, had just my printed full name in the “customer signature” portion, but not my actual signatures reflected on ALL of the papers and contracts in my possession. Did Mike forge these documents and just print my full name and accept it as an official signature? Something wrong happened here. - I then requested the signed cancellation forms of GAP ($950) apex service contract $2516 prepaid maintenance $1781+$1658 = $3439 TOTAL CANCELLED = $6905 that we filled out last night, (4-30-24) - he came back and basically handed it to me without saying a word nor made eye contact or stayed to ask if I had any further questions or needed assistance further. - I review the papers he handed me, Come to find out that both the cancellation forms were not completely filled out, it only had my name, VIN, signature and date. - Since All the contract information had not been filled out, I requested Mike to fill it out properly so I have all the documents in writing completely filled out. - He got mad like this was such a waste of his precious time, but he did it and returned my copies, now that he had filled it out fully and scanned it and gave me new copies. - It was my judgement that Mike never intended to get the proper info filled out and sent off for my refund of $6905 of GAP + prepaid maintenance. - Who knows if Mike will actually send these off, I called Toyota Financial services to resolve this issue separately. - After that, I then told Mike I’m missing 1 sheet of the “APEX windshield protection” contract that I “supposedly” signed. - He huffs and puffs and goes and gets it and basically throws it in my face as I’m standing there and walks off. - Meanwhile I am explaining to my sales rep Andrew what all is taking place which he also couldn’t understand the shady practices taking place. - Of course Andrew isn’t the one to blame entirely, but if something as big as a mandatory 4 package deal totalling $10k, shouldn’t that been discussed in the very first interaction? FINALLY I am able to find a phone number to get in contact with Mr. Anson Jones via a 2 year old forum complaint about the similar situation on Google Reviews. I am happy that he took time to hear me out on my story, something Shawn wanted no part of listening to. After explaining to Mr Anson, he said he would pull the tapes of the financing between me and Mr. Mike Charles to see if I was ever shown the 4 apex protection packages with price and contract and had me willingly sign for it. I am interested on what is going to happen with that because I never saw those purchase agreements until today (5/1) with my signatures that were not present, only my printed full name. MR. Anson assured me he would be contacting me in a week with the video and resolution. Hopefully Mr. Anson can make things right for this situation.

- No where in any documentations I had, that disclosed those packages included in the price breakdown, it was only reflected in the total price. Which was left for me to find out later on. - I never received any signed copies or papers that stated I purchased these options or even the benefits or how to use them (customary practice to provide receipts) - ~ if it was actually required for me to buy it, then where are all my documents reflecting this? Where are my receipts and paperwork for these “required add ons” - I signed the paperwork that was given to me and I brought the car home. ~ It is my wedding week so things got hectic and I went to my honeymoon immediately right after. I return on the night of 4/29/24 (exactly 30 days after purchase) Keating was closed so I had to go the very next day to speak to them. Upon relooking at the contracts and financing, the numbers didn’t add up and there was $9857 unaccounted for. I had 0 documentation that I had purchased these contracts of $1884 windshield repair $1880 paint protection, $1780 dent repair, apex GPS $4313. If I did, then I would have quickly did the math and realized that is the price discrepancy, but like I mentioned, I had NO DOCUMENTATION ON ANYTHING REFLECTING THE ADDITIONAL $9857 Therefore this had me stumped onto what these charges were because the math wasn’t mathing. NEXT DAY 4/30/2024 -I Came in to talk to Mike specifically on the breakdown, he was very condescending in responses and snarky. Stated that “you signed the agreement” when I was clearly not presented with the hidden “mandatory packages” - he could not explain why the buyers order sheet with itemized add ons, did not include the 4 “mandatory” add ons ($9857) so customer can see the total cost of the car - After an hour of explaining, Mike then printed out the buyers ORDER and showed it to me for the first time, of course it had my signature on there from electronic pen pad - Mike insists that the windshield protection, paint protection, dent repair and apex GPS were MANDATORY & NOT OPTIONAL & NOT CANCELLABLE - This is when I find out the price discrepancy in the purchase information screen that no where states these costs were included in the loan already - Mike then agrees to do the cancellation forms for GAP ($950) apex service contract $2516 prepaid maintenance $1781+$1658 = $3439 TOTAL CANCELLED = $6905 - After filling out the cancel forms of my wanted refunds, Mike failed to provide a copy of these cancelled forms for my records, it shouldn’t be my job to ask for signed documentations. It should be customary to provide any contract to the buyer - We had then to return the next day to speak to Shawn after 2 hours spent going back and forth with Mike

Never had such a terrible experience at a car dealership in my 75 years of life. Can’t believe we were blindsided so easily and now stuck with finances and payments more than agreed on. SENIORS BEWARE!!
