I was later notified of an issued of the dash board lights were on and the car "shimmied". Hard to believe sense I only had the vehicle for 3 years. Also, being an owner of 3 other VWs in the pass. Long story short, after keeping the vehicle for 2 weeks for repair, and replaced with a lease car to get around, I am hoping the issue has been resolved... Time will tell. I have NEVER had any issues with my W in the pass. This time seemed suspect... Thank you Michael for your reassurance and caring for an 'ol customer. More
Love Gary Axelband It is so enjoyable to work with Gary. I purchased my last car from him and would do it again, even though my care is just a baby (one year old)! They always di I bought my 2012 SU Forrester at Ganley east side new. Since then moved to Philadelphia and was receiving SU dealer regular auto care. They always did a multi pt inspection to advise me what service I need. Car has always had excessive oil consumption problems to the point where sometimes the oil well has been bone dry. The engine/oil light has never come on ANY of those times even though the service ticket reads that customer indicates oil light. That has happened at multiple dealers including this one sadly. It is misleading. In any event, brought my car in for a noise in what seemed like exhaust system but what do I know -- I am not an auto tech specialist and figure this will be properly diagnosed by the experts. I was hearing this noise mostly as I step on gas pedal and especially loud as I am driving (and not stationery). So, at the time of being "diagnosed" for the noise (2/15/2020) the tech discovered engine oil bone dry, & so the car was again put on an oil consumption test (as is the saga of this car), and I was told the problem is probably due to the engine having been damaged with all of the oil problems. I was sent home to return in 1,200 miles for the oil consumption test, and so had to continue to live with the noise until further next steps. I was even told by service manager to call Subaru of America to start the conversation of a 2nd engine failure, as I had already had an engine block replaced by a Subaru dealer outside of Philadelphia. Next, I returned at approx. 1,400 miles (on 3/14/2020) and I was told the car oil level was fine and so the consumption test is passed. They service manager said I could pick up my car. So, I said - "well then what is the noise?????!!!!"& added, that "You did after all charge me last week for the tech diagnosis but you have failed to tell me what is wrong with the car given the noise." So the service manager said he will have the tech look at it. Turns out it was a bearing gone bad and it needed to be changed pronto because it is a dangerous/road and safety hazard. What the heck?--I thought. This mis-diagnosis and run around caused me a lot of wasted time, back and forth to the dealer, worry, and exposure to hazard. I am now also concerned that it is time to seriously look at brakes and tire ware, which Subaru dealers that I have worked with previously always check when the car is in the shop. Those kinds of inspections generate service business for dealerships and also give the customer peace of mind. I am definitely hearing that friction noise when I brake that suggests to me that it may be brake service time, but I was just at the dealer as I wrote above on 3/14/2020. Wouldn't that have been a good time to let me know if either of those (brakes, tire tread) needs some service. For sure though, the bearings and oil consumption handling were a debacle, and the oil issue continues to be an issue. As I headed to the payment window to pay the $500 bearings bill, I asked the service manager what I need to do about the oil issue. He replied you best get it checked every 1,000 miles. Really??!! That is totally unreasonable and unacceptable for a Subaru consumer who invested in your vehicle line for the good story you are putting out to consumers about your vehicles. More

After finding out that the dealership I originally leased the car was no longer performing that service I wanted to buy the car after my lease ended. After finding out that the dealership I originally leased the car was no longer performing that service I contacted Ganley Bedford. They were so at tentative with answering calls and emails. When I visited the dealership and met Joe Walker he was amazing. Friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. Shawn Smith handled the finance it was seamless.
