10am: Brought the car in for the appointment for Express service, was assured by advisor Alea that it was going to be quick and I would be called as soon as the car is ready. All good. 11am: Nothing. 12pm: Nothing. 1pm: Nothing. 2pm: Nothing. 3pm: Nothing. 4pm: Nothing. 4:20pm: Called to check on status, the service department didn’t answer the phone. No problem, let’s leave them a message asking to call back. 5pm: Nothing. 5:30pm: Called again for an update, the service department didn’t answer the phone. Alright, let’s leave them another message since they close at 6pm:, so someone will probably be in touch soon. Nothing. 5:50pm: Called again and was told there’s nobody in the service department at the moment and that I likely won’t be able to access the car to at the very least take my belongings from it. Nobody knows if the car has even been worked on or finished. 6:10pm: Showed up in person to an empty Service department. That’s when the sales consultant James Tapulgo saved the day. Not only was he very understanding of the situation and just generally friendly, he also took the time to locate my car keys (right in Alea’s desk) and even brought the car to the entrance for me. Why does the Kendall Toyota of Anchorage dealership service center not have the tool(s) to repair a Toyota?!?! Absolutely disappointed with the service center. I called the service center (17 June 2022 service center not have the tool(s) to repair a Toyota?!?! Absolutely disappointed with the service center. I called the service center (17 June 2022) for an estimate and appointment to replace both lower ball joints on a 2005 Tacoma with the new ball joints I have on hand. The service attendant (Luana) was able to set my appointment for 24 June at 8am but required a technician to provide the estimate who was busy at the moment. I called back a couple hours later and Luana connected me to a technician (Dylan). Dylan confirmed I was only replacing both lower ball joints, not the A-arm, and that I already had new ball joints on hand quoting $602. After dropping of my vehicle at the dealership service center on 24 June at 7am, I was told by Andrew (after conferring with a technician), "We [the Toyota dealership service center] do not have the tool(s) to replace the lower ball joint".
