I’d brought my car in a few times because I was losing pressure in one of my tires. While I was trying to get an appointment, I called my Trusted tire shop and we discussed tires - the ones we decided o pressure in one of my tires. While I was trying to get an appointment, I called my Trusted tire shop and we discussed tires - the ones we decided on even had a rebate. I wanted to have the dealer look at it before changing the tires to be sure nothing else was going on before someone else pulled the wheels. I finally got an appointment at the dealership - they did find a screw in the tire - irregardless, I was told the tires could be replaced under warranty but they would need to go through Mazda so I needed to have more wear for the claim. I was told to drive another 1,000 or so miles and then call which I did. I called back and the service advisor was talking about Falcon (sp?) tires. I told her I didn’t have Falcons, I had Toyos. She told me there wasn’t an open campaign but she would submit it. You would think that before all but promising a replacement, she would have checked the tire brand but what do I know. After several days she finally called and told me Mazda denied the replacement. I wasn’t shocked - I really didn’t think they would replace tires but she assured me even going so far as to tell me that I could get a tire credit and pay the difference for a nicer tire for the winter. After months of run around over lost PSI, service appointments and communication, I was back at square one. Only now I had almost no tread on my tires, it was mid October and now my need was urgent. I was offered pricing on tires and told there was a buy 3 get 1 promo but I really wasn’t interested in giving Mazda a dime for tires - to be frank it felt like bait and switch. I called back my tire shop who told me that not only was the rebate promo over, but the tires I want are back ordered because Mazda uses the most ridiculous tire sizes - great. Ultimately I ended up with a more expensive tire with no rebate. But I won’t crash and die this winter now so that’s a plus. Thanks for nothing Mazda. More
