This was my first time purchasing a car from the Key Dealership in Portsmouth, and I can't stress enough how awesome an experience it was! My Sales Associate, Robert Kempf was outstanding! He was extremely pleasant and made me feel at ease throughout the entire process. At times, it felt like I was buying a car from a friend. Additionally, Bob was very knowledgeable about the car I was purchasing, and he gave me a continuous boost of confidence when I took the test drive with a manual transmission (I hadn't driven a stick shift in 30 years). After dealing with so many high-pressure and unscrupulous car Salesmen over the years, I was totally blown away at how calm, sincere, and respectful Bob was when dealing with me. I can honestly write, with no hesitation, that my September 12th experience at the KEY Chrysler Dodge RAM Dealership of Portsmouth was absolutely the BEST car buying experience in all my years of purchasing automobiles!! The service manager , Mike, is great to work with. Although the service dept handles a lot of vehicles, it is much like a small town service. So much better then dealing with " service advisors". To be honest I wanted to give a one-star review but did not due to the services that were performed were completed and correct and I did not want this to reflect on the person who performed the work on the not due to the services that were performed were completed and correct and I did not want this to reflect on the person who performed the work on the truck. My issues are with the personal who are in charge of scheduling/communication or should I say the complete lack of it. I booked the appointment on line as I tried calling three different times to book with no answer so I went on-line and booked. There was no communication from the website that my appointment was booked so I called the next day to make sure it was in the books and explained that I was going to drop the truck off before they opened and to please have it done by lunch time. The truck was scheduled for an oil change, tire rotation and a recall on the tailgate, the appointment was booked a week in advance so they new it was coming in for service and should have been scheduled accordingly to accommodate the request of having it done by lunch time especially when I was able to drop it off that morning prior to opening and I also stated on the envelope you leave the keys in that I needed the truck done by lunch. I received a txt at 7:39am stating if I had any needs or concerns about the appointment to respond to the txt. Mike was the name on the txt and I'm assuming it is Mike Fletcher but not sure. I did not hear anything from the dealership all morning. I did respond to the txt twice, once at 12:47 (after lunch) and again at 2:06 with no response to my txt. I called the service center as I leave for 3pm and was told my truck was next in line for service. I was not happy and was told it would be forty minutes to complete. Once I secured a ride from the Boss to get the truck, we showed up and it was still not complete, the truck was almost ready but the additional time of paperwork and payment made me extra late for another appointment I had and the whole reason I had requested the truck be completed by lunch time. I live over an hour away and securing rides to and from to get the truck was upset by the complete lack of communication on the part of the service department. I also did not appreciate the lack of empathy for the complete brake down of communication and would be hard pressed to give a positive review of my experience at this dealership. More
