Pushy and passive-aggressive I went to Key Hyundai in the very early stages of my car search. I wanted to test-drive a lot of cars, so I knew I wasn't buying that day. I was a bit surprised to be handed a financing application before I even got in a car. Then, after I drove three cars (all Hyundais -- one new, two used), I was pressured incessantly by Damian and his manager, John, when I clearly said that their pricing was out of my budget. After an hour of badgering, including personal questions about why I felt comfortable only up to a certain price, I finally escaped the "How can we get you to buy today?", took my held-hostage registration back and left, instructing them that they could contact me in a week. I wasn't intending to buy a car within the next two weeks, but I did after I fell in love with and found a great deal on a Prius elsewhere. I sent an email to Damian thanking him for his assistance and received this passive-aggressive email back: "Hello and good evening. Congratulations on your purchase. I thought you would have given me the oppurtunity to followed up with you because you said give you a week to think about it and you weren't ready yet. But obviously i showed you the wrong car. Congrats again." This is incredibly unprofessional (great spelling and grammar, too), and I'm glad I bought elsewhere. I encourage you to do the same. More

This SUV has changed my life I loved the attention that my boys and I received by Don. He understood exactly what I was looking for and had cars waiting for me to look at. Damian - Best Solution Provider ever.. First Impressions of Key Hyundai (of Manchester): 1. Our first impression was that it was a nice size dealership. We were not comfortable with the 1st individual who approached us and were luckily able to meet with Damian. The Key Hyundai (Manchester) dealership (our overall impression): 1. Well laid out with a room for children to play 2. Bathroom are clean 3. There is a nice fireplace to keep warm, if need be. 4. Their coffee, allegedly, is the best. We don’t drink coffee, but they bragged about it the entire time – which was cute. 5. The indoor bay is really neat feature when there is inclement weather. Our intent: 1. Was to LOOK for a car, not buy one, yet. 2. To Determine if this was the dealership we wanted to buy the car from 3. To figure out if we felt they were above-board and honest 4. If the Hyundai Sonata was the right car for us 5. If they could meet our trade-in needs Ask for Damian Smith only: 1. Damian is a very low-key but effective 'Solutions Provider' 2. He spent nearly 4 hours with us giving us many options to choose from. 3. It was disconcerting, however, that we didn't know what the prices of the cars that were being shown to us. We were told they were based on credit, which to this day, doesn't make 100% sense to us. 4. He was patient and attentive, humorous yet professional. Knowledgeable and capable. 5. Damian did retreat to the manager quite a few times but he was able to come back with solid information each time which was helpful to us. 6. Damian was low key in his approach and never felt like a shark with an agenda. Never ever did we feel pressured or hurried. Michael Bianchi: 1. Michael was spirited and fast-talking but quite friendly and amiable. He was clearly adept at what he does and motivated to get that vehicle into our hands that day, if possible (despite the snow storm that was brewing). 2. He provided at least 3 scenarios to purchase the car we felt inclined towards. In the end, he provided an outstanding trade-in value for our vehicle which still had a substantial pay-off to the bank. He also continued to drop the price of the car in keeping with the good credit scoring that he attained when he ran the credit check. 3. He was tremendously generous in the added extras he provided to 'sweeten the pot'. 4. We were, a tiny bit suspicious with the eagerness to sell the car that day. Randolfo Cabrera: 1. Randolfo was very pleasant even given the lateness of the hour (almost past closing time with the snow piling up as every second ticked by). 2. He had the necessary paperwork and didn't mind our questions. 3. He explained the things we didn't fully understand (like gap insurance) quite well. 4. He was articulate, capable and professional and made us feel both comfortable and welcome. Suggestions: 1. ALWAYS ask for Car Fax. Don't wait for them to suggest it. 2. When they say 'everything is there' in the car – check it anyway. The spare tire was not there in the new car we purchased. Luckily, we had a spare tire in the vehicle we were trading in and took it. 3. Bring your calculator and be ready to do some math. 4. Know the value of the car you're trading in as well as the car you are about to purchase. That will help in negotiations, if needed. 5. Be prepared to spend at least 3-4 hours with them. If you don't have the time, then it's probably not a good time to go. Final thoughts: 1. Key Hyundai, based on our experience, had provided a shift in our perspective when it comes to auto dealerships. We believe this has to do primarily with our experience with Damian whom we asked for immediately upon entering the establishment. BEST DECISION WE EVER MADE. 2. The staff all work together and seem to get along very well which allowed us to relax and feel 'at ease'. 3. After the purchase (some 2 weeks later), a lovely surprise arrived at our residence. Delicious homemade cookies along with coupons for services and a touching hand-written note from Jill Merriam. Many people in our families have bought cars, but no one has had this kind of personal touch after the purchase of a vehicle. More

I revealed in detail all my concerns explaining my frustration and disappointment in my ability to discuss my needs and concerns. Angela asked if she could return my call promptly. After less than 15 minutes she had arranged an appt and directed me to speaking with someone, Rodolfo, immediately upon my arrival. I was quickly assigned to Lori Guardo that LISTENED to my every concern and truly deserves her title of "Solution Provider". I had the greatest experience in dealing with EVERYONE at Key and they helped me remain relaxed and more than met my needs. More
