I did reach out. I sent all of the repair information to Steven, the sales manager (at his request). He told me they did nothing to affect the vehicle, called it "unfortunate timing" and said it wasn't their problem. This directly contradicts what I was told by the Toyota service tech - leaving a scan tool attached to a vehicle that is not running can cause voltage drop which will eventually trip electrical codes (codes which have to be cleared by a dealer). Anyway, it seems we'll have to cut our losses on this one. We went somewhere else to purchase our vehicle and had a much better experience.
