He was able to let me test drive cars as well. This was my first time purchasing a car through a dealership and my overall experience was very enjoyable. Rich will definitely be someone I come back to see! More

I, and my husband, later returned for an oil change on my 2011 Sportage and ended up trading it in and buying a 2014 Sorento and 2014 Cadenza. We love Rich Purdy and wouldn't dream of dealing with anyone else. He's a nice, fun, real person to deal with. PS we even came back randomly just this past July and bought a 2002 Corvette from him. Rich and the KIA of Puyallup crew are awesome! Mariann S. More

Our son and wife purchased an Optima from the Puyallup duo (Rick and Rich) earlier this year. A few things would have made all the difference My salesperson was great. He really listened to me, which resulted in him showing me the car I wanted on the first try and being able to offer me a financing plan I was comfortable with. There was no hassle, no pressure. We sealed the deal within an hour of me walking into the dealer and I took delivery that day. However, while my salesperson was going over the features with me, we had to remove a paper floor mat (the kind the service dept. uses to keep your car clean), a sticker, and glue from a sticker they had removed. Then when I drove away I noticed that the a/c only worked on level 4. I turned around and drove right back into the service bay, where I notified the attendant that I had just purchased the vehicle 10 minutes earlier and it seemed there may be a problem with the a/c. He looked at it for a moment, then called someone else over to whom he explained that I just took delivery of the vehicle but the a/c isn't working properly. Without saying a word, this second service person went around to the passenger side, fiddled around with something, and then mumbled a sentence at the first guy and started to walk away. I asked him what the problem was, and he told me there was a loose pin-connector-something-or-other. I asked if it was fixed now, and he said it would probably come loose again and I should call on Monday or Tuesday to set an appointment (this was on a Saturday). The first service person reiterated that I should call on Monday or Tuesday. I would have appreciated it if someone acknowledged the issue with taking delivery of a brand new vehicle that already has a malfunctioning feature. I also would have very much appreciated being able to schedule the appointment while I was standing there, instead of calling on Monday morning. I called Monday and was told they couldn't get me in the same day, so we scheduled it for Tuesday. I brought it in Tuesday and was kind of surprised that no form of alternative transportation was offered to me, but I didn't say anything because I hoped it would be quick. It was - I was out of there in 30 or 40 minutes. The other thing is that before I drove to Kia that first day, I had filled out an online form for a $50 gift card in exchange for a test drive. The code wasn't sent to me (yes, I checked my spam folder). I mentioned it to my salesperson and he told me to just do it again when I get home. I did, and I got an email telling me to schedule the appointment and bring in this form to redeem for the gift card. Immediately after that email, I got an email from someone at Kia of Puyallup asking me to schedule the appointment. I replied within 3 minutes that I had already done the test drive and was just following my salespersons' instructions. Six days later, when I hadn't heard back from him, I forwarded it to my salesperson who advised he doesn't have any power to do anything and that the reason I hadn't heard back from the gift card person was because he had a death in the family. Eventually, after asking me several times if I was planning on coming into the dealer (why would I be planning that?), he asked me to forward the email to him and he will get it to his manager to take care of it. It seems to me that all the salespeople there should know how to work the gift card scheme, and that someone should be checking the gift card person's email when he's out of the office. These are not big issues. I would still recommend this dealer and I would use them again myself. Things happen, and it certainly could have been a lot worse. But I don't feel they went above and beyond or provided outstanding service - I feel they were average, and therefore don't feel right giving the 5 stars they all keep asking me to give them. More

With a husband with a terminal illness it was important to him (my husband) that I have a reliable and safe car with a warranty. Our limitations were pretty tight due to medical expenses and Don not only made the deal work I drove away with a car with more bells and whistles than I thought we'd ever have.. A big thank you for your kindness and excellent customer service. I can't say thank you enough. Tyler did our financing and was also kind and engaging. The paperwork was easy and he made the signing experience quick and painless. More
A meeting with the Don Recently stepped into a Kia dealership to buy an Audi. Actually correction I went in with the sole intentions of test driving and going over numbers t Recently stepped into a Kia dealership to buy an Audi. Actually correction I went in with the sole intentions of test driving and going over numbers to take home and discuss with the special person in my life. After the drive, I wasn't hooked but still intrigued and curious enough to see what finance options would be available. Busy busy busy day! Three people ahead of me all with the same intentions I suppose, let the waiting game commence. This was after a hour and 15 min drive down from Seattle, needless to say. It was not an experience I was looking forward to. First I was being assisted by another salesman who I assumed had an appointment set up so I was bumped over to Don. Ehhh okay no worries, I'm interested in the car not the salesperson. However through friendly banter between he and myself the wait went from feeling like a chore to being enjoyable. During this exchange I begin to feel I wasn't just a mean to reach a sales quota or a bank account with legs. Don took his time to discuss several options available and made adjustments that I requested till we arrived at a "number" I was comfortable with. Some may say well that is the job of a car salesperson but I've had some experiences in the past. (I will not divulge any further) This was a pleasant experience no pressure, no gimmicks. It was likened to just two buddies getting together talking and in the midst of fun a bit of business was handled as well. From one southern Man to another Welcome to the Northeast. When the time comes around again, I'll be sure to have Kia of Puyallup as a first stop. And I'll be sure to seek out the Don More
