6 months ago i bought a car with tinted windows and I was told if I get a ticket for these windows the dealer will take care of it. Almost a month ago I got the ticket, thus I contacted Chris and Alain and t told if I get a ticket for these windows the dealer will take care of it. Almost a month ago I got the ticket, thus I contacted Chris and Alain and they were very helpful responding that no problem I will get reimbursed in the next few days for the ticket. Now it has been 3 weeks and after learning that Chris and Alain do not work at LIC Hyundai anymore I was told to contact Israel who is the manager and who I was also working with when I was buying my car. Therefore, i have tried to contact Israel and get an answer what happened to my reimbursement check but every time I call I’m being transferred to his voice mail (I leave messages but nobody calls back) or people take messages and who knows what happens with it. I’m sick and tired running after something that I should not. Since Chris and Alain left I feel like I’m being totally ignored. Is this how you treat your customers after you complete the sale? Is this how I’m going to be treated every time I will need your assistance? I can only imagine the hustle and difficulties when I have to change my oil or something. If the manager of the dealership ignores me who else will listen and respond!? And i was thinking about recommending this place to all my friends. Well, now i can guarantee you It will not happen after being treated like this. Very disappointing. More
You can see the reviews and can see this is one of the best dealerships in the country, but my specific situation goes much further beyond a 1-5 rating system. A week ago my car had major engine issues and was taken in to a different Hyundai dealership in queens New York. I was informed that my 2011 Sonata with 23K miles would need a new engine and would cost me $7,000 and would not be covered by insurance or the warranty. The "liaison" then could not accurately explain what was wrong. The whole situation seemed very "shady" to me. Luckily, I made the best decision of my life and called DAVID RUTKAY at LIC Hyundai. He has guided me at every step of this 2 week long process. He is always available, responds to text immediately and contacted me on his days off. The guy was a pleasure to work with. He instructed me to bring my busted Sonata to LIC ASAP. I next met JAY STRASSBERG, who I cannot give enough credit to for positively affecting my life and my finances. He inspected the car and discovered that the car should certainly be covered under the warranty and went to the trouble of calling up the ladder to Hyundai and making sure the car was covered (because it should have been). This paragraph does a very poor job in explaining the efforts and lengths Jay went to help me, I cannot thank him enough. Once David learned that my car was covered under warranty and that Jay made sure I didn’t have to come out of pocket for $7,000, and he Re-"Assuranced" my belief in the Hyundai brand, we explored the options of a new Sonata. I fell in love with a new 2014 Sonata and asked him to run some #'s. DAVID RUTKAY looked me in the eye, shook my hand and told me he would get me the best deal he could. I was prepared for some negotiating, playing with #'s and hours of back and forth (typical of Car Dealers). It took all of 5 minutes; I am the stingiest person you will meet. I will haggle over $20 ... but...there was nothing to negotiate. The #'s David came with were LOWER than my bottom line. He's not a "salesman", the guy is just a decent, nice guy. He does what he says he's going to do and just delivers. I'm not just happy about the process, I'm relieved, I'm de-stressed and I am a Hyundai believer. This dealership is not just selling cars, in my opinion; they are changing the way that the public views traditional car dealerships. No haggling, no pushy sales guy, no boiler room style negotiating, no aggressive sales manager, no making you sit for hours to show you who's boss. They are just ALL nice, decent people. I parked out front on all my trips to the dealership, right out front, in their parking lot, in New York. This review is getting too long, if you need service on your Hyundai - take it to LIC Hyundai on Northern Blvd in Long Island City ...... and please believe me and the other 100+ reviews, if you want to buy a car, and make it an easy stress free process, call DAVID RUTKAY. He's just someone you want to know and work with and is so far removed from the typical stigma of the traditional "Car Salesman" More
