After a horrible experience at another dealership on Saturday (12/29/18), I had high hopes for Koons. I was dead wrong. They had the car that we wanted at the right price, so we called, confirmed with a sales associate (Stacey) that it was available, and went to see it. Upon announcing that this would be a cash transaction, Stacey expressed displeasure that she wouldn't receive a kickback for selling financing. I made it abundantly clear that I would not be financing, but would pay cash. I left a personal check to hold the car for a few days while I moved funds around, and it was agreed that I would return on 1/2/19 (four days later) with a cashier's check for the remaining balance. Sounds great, right? Nope. On the morning of 12/31 (Monday...two days before we agreed that I would return), Stacey called back and said that I should come on down, not to bring anything with me and that I'd take the car home, and return with the remaining balance later in the week. When I arrived, it quickly became clear that something wasn't quite right. Now, I'd be writing a check for $6k as a deposit, then paying the rest by cashier's check after the new year. Good thing I brought my checkbook even though I was told to bring nothing with me, right? After an hour, I'm approached by Alan, the finance manager. He introduced himself and then said that he needed to clarify why I was there and what I was hoping to accomplish. Last I checked, most people go to a car dealer to buy a car, and I said that. He then explained that he wanted to help me "rebuild" my credit (my credit isn't great, but I certainly have zero interest in financing when I have the cash on hand). I stopped him, told him that I wasn't financing and that I didn't want to discuss it again. He KEPT pushing financing, I told him that things were going south in a hurry, and he stormed out. So, I told Stacey that I was going to leave. She begged me to chat with a manager and assured me that she'd get someone else from finance. After speaking with a manager (Trey - not sure about the spelling), I agreed to stay but told them that time was running out - they were super close to losing what should have been an easy sale. 20 minutes after that, Trey told me that "99%" of the paperwork was done. At that point, I left. They took an easy sale and blew it because of pushy tactics to discourage a cash transaction. And now for the fun part: Hours later, while in the comfort of my living room, an unknown number called. It was Stacey's husband - also a sales associate - who tried desperately to salvage the sale for his wife. When I told him that I had absolutely nothing to discuss, he explained that they are commission-based (no kidding!), that they spend time away from their families to work, and that it is really unfair to have a deal fall through at the last minute. He also acknowledged that being the last day of the year, they REALLY needed to make that sale...essentially saying that I had no respect for their time. In reality, they had zero respect for my time, nor for my wish to pay cash. Well, Koons, if you all weren't so eager to push financing for someone who wants to pay cash (why on God's green earth would one finance if they don't have to?) and could have left things the way they were, they would have easily won my business and probably would have had a repeat customer. Other concerning items: 1) Stacey asked my better half to email insurance information to her PERSONAL email account. It struck me as odd, but didn't really concern me until seeing the rest of their tactics...seems fishy at worst; unprofessional at best. 2) My full social security number was read aloud in front of other customers with no effort to be discreet. 3) My current credit score was read aloud on three separate occasions in front of other customers with no effort to be discreet. 4) When Terry (Stacey's husband) called to try to salvage the sale, he dropped the F-bomb (I had the phone on speaker so that my other half could participate in this nonsense). Now, I don't have virgin ears, but the 7-year-old in this house does...and he repeats what he hears. More

Worst Car buying Experience Ever I bought a new car from Koons. To start of they didn’t offer us anything to drink or eat for the Seven and a half hour car buying experience. Yes that I bought a new car from Koons. To start of they didn’t offer us anything to drink or eat for the Seven and a half hour car buying experience. Yes that’s how long it took, after signing the papers saying we will buy the vehicle it took 3 hours until someone came to tak to us from finance. Meantime we had to ask for water 3 times and still didn’t get any! Finally after leaving the dealership with the new car the dealership called saying they misplaced my down payment check. They said I would have to bring the vehicle back or over night them a check! Which I was not going to do until I know what happen to my other check! Then they texted me the following morning saying they had found it! WHAT A JOKE! And now a month and a half into owning this vehicle I still did not get any touch up paint which I was promised I’ll get the following week. I am more than unhappy with the dishonesty and promises I have got from this dealership! More
