On 8/28/10, we purchased a 2010 Jeep Compass. Part of the deal was a compass was to be installed in the vehicle. After the deal was completed and cash was paid, we were informed it would be the first we the deal was a compass was to be installed in the vehicle. After the deal was completed and cash was paid, we were informed it would be the first week of October before we could get the compass. After numerous phone calls, to which we received no reply, we received a phone message that the compass would not be available in the near future so they proposed to purchase us a Garwin GPS from Walmart "to make us happy". We visited another Jeep dealer to see why we were having difficulty getting the compass to learn that there had never been a compass that could be installed as promised in the Jeep Compass. We learned that the only way to get a compass installed in this car was to install a navigation system. We discussed this with Mr. Alvarez, General Manager, who said our only optin was to accept their offer for a GPS. We did not accept his offer because we bought the car in good faith and they knew at the time of purchase that there was no compass. More
While the service department people are friendly, I was disappointed with their service numerous times. I have a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4. With 26,000 miles on it, the transmission began slipping. I brou disappointed with their service numerous times. I have a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4. With 26,000 miles on it, the transmission began slipping. I brought it in and had it repaired under warranty. A few days later, I realized the linkage between my 4x4 shift knob and the transfer case was missing. I brought the truck back to complain and they claimed it was not their fault and a new linkage would cost $400.00. With 44,000 miles on it, I brought the truck back again because of leaking power steering fluid. My extended service contract covered the repair, which was replacing the entire steering rack. When I picked up the truck, they mentioned it needed front brake pads. I replaced the front pads myself. With 48,000 miles I it and I was in Maine, I had a noise in the front end. I brought it to a small dealership in Maine and they replaced the upper and lower ball joints on the front end, again under my service contract. The Maine dealership said it was an obvious problem which the Lakeland Dealership should have noticed, especially if they looked at the brakes. Did I mention each time I bring the truck in under warranty work, it cost me a $100 deductible. Overall, I've been very disappointed with the service department. They don't return calls and do less than acceptable work. More
What part of "I'm interested in buying sometime within the next 6 months, I'm not buying anything on the spot today, I'd like to take a day or so to think this over, I am not in the position to buy someth the next 6 months, I'm not buying anything on the spot today, I'd like to take a day or so to think this over, I am not in the position to buy something without doing my homework" do these people NOT understand?? I made it VERY clear upfront I was not walking out the door with a vehicle but that I would like information regarding my specific situation. Instead of telling me what they could do for me, they kept me for 3 hours, showed me 2 cars (one being a 2009) and when I told them I would like to sleep on it, they told me there was no guarantee that the 2009 would be there in a few days. I'm sorry, did we suddenly come out of the recession? or is that car just that popular it's going to fly out of the lot. You want my buisness? Don't lie to me. I'm not stupid. You want respect, you have to give it. I was upfront an honest about the situation that I was not walking out the door with a car. Instead of respecting the issue and showing me around, the salesman basically tried everything he could think of to get me into a car that minute. Pretty much saying (not in these exact words) that it would be a very stupid decision to not purchase this car today. Shady salesmen. Beware. More
