Car Buying Made Easy...VERY Easy My wife and I have been searching for a 2nd vehicle for a few months. Having moved away from the city we were looking for a vehicle that would get us My wife and I have been searching for a 2nd vehicle for a few months. Having moved away from the city we were looking for a vehicle that would get us to work downtown during inclement weather seasons. Our vehicle of choice was a Chevy Avalanche and after doing our homework, we knew exactly what we wanted in a used vehicle, what we were looking to spend and how much we wanted to pay each month in payments. After checking out quite a few cars, and test driving all, we found the ad for a red 2004 Avalanche and Lakewood Happy Motors. In the ad they did not list the mileage, but after sending the dealer an email inquiry late in the evening (Friday), we received a response the very next morning (Saturday) telling us the condition of the vehicle, the mileage and that it was still available for purchase. I called the sales person "DJ" and told him we were on our way to see the vehicle. Lo and behold, when we got to the dealer's lot, the red Avalanche was sitting front and center in the lot. This truck was clean, showed well and it was apparently well taken care of by its previous owner. DJ greeted us with a "Sir" and "Ma'am" in a deep southern drawl. At all times were we treated with honesty and respect, never felt pressured into making a buying decision or were we ever made to feel that we were intruding on DJ's time - he walked around the truck with us answering our many questions with patience and knowledge. We went on a test drive and were impressed with the truck and DJ - all this before talking $$$ or financing. When we went into the office to do the paperwork, DJ was as up front and honest as a person can be, telling us that he would do all he could to get us financed and at a rate that was acceptable to my wife and me. We gave DJ our down payment and started the paperwork. Because I belong to a credit union, DJ submitted our credit application to them. When we were told what our interest rate was to be, my wife and I were agreeable to the terms but then the kicker - DJ said he was going to shop our app to other credit unions to see if he could us get a better rate. All this, mind you, done without us asking or prompting. We signed our names on the documents and with a handshake and a "Thank You Sir - Thank You Ma'am" we were driving away in our new truck. On Monday, my wife and I received a call from DJ telling us he was able to find us financing with a better interest rate. We returned to the dealer and signed the new loan documents. DJ and Lakewood Happy Motors treated us with the utmost respect and courtesy. It's true that if you, as a consumer, have a preconceived notion of how you are going to be treated or how a car dealer is going to be - good or bad - it's easy for them to live up (or down) to your expectations. But by being honest and fair to my wife and me, DJ has earned our trust and we will definitely recommend him and Lakewood Happy Motors to anyone looking for a clean used car or truck and a fair deal! DO NOT TRUST THIS UNETHICAL COMPANY I was insulted, harassed and personally called an 'arrogant xxx' for simply stating I was accepted with 4 other Dealerships in Credit help, I of cour I was insulted, harassed and personally called an 'arrogant xxx' for simply stating I was accepted with 4 other Dealerships in Credit help, I of course fired back with stating they are 'used car salesmen' stating a simple fact, and I was continually harassed. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP! They claim to have an A Rating with the Better Business Bureau. You can pay the BBB for an A Rating, but more importantly when asked to speak to Management to inform Owner/Management, I was insulted again. If YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR CREDIT and HAVING ETHICAL BUSINESSES EARN YOUR BUSINESS, SHOP ANYWHERE BUT HAPPY MOTORS, does insulting your customers make you 'Happy?' They are xxxx. More
I honestly did't even go down to the dealer to look at any of the Grand Cherokees that they had on the lot. I had seen some of them listed on cars.com and autotrader.com, and the weird thing about Lake at any of the Grand Cherokees that they had on the lot. I had seen some of them listed on cars.com and autotrader.com, and the weird thing about Lakewood Happy Motors is they never post their milage on any vehicles. I figured it was just cars.com or autotrader.com doing that but then you go to their actual website and what do you know... milage unlisted. I did actually send them an e-mail through cars.com requesting info (specifically milage) on a certain GC, and whoever responded said that Jeep had been sold a while back but offered me to come down and look at their other Jeeps. Why would I waste my time and gas to go down there to find no Jeeps are worth looking at? More
The art of buying a new car can and is MOST of the time an experience that is not a friendly one! HOWEVER, Andy, at Happy Motors went above and beyond the norm to help my wife purchase her first car. She i an experience that is not a friendly one! HOWEVER, Andy, at Happy Motors went above and beyond the norm to help my wife purchase her first car. She is from the Philippines and therefore could have been hard due to nothing else other than the language difference. They have financial programs in place for those who are "Credit Rich" as well as those who may be struggling in these desperate times! Mike and his staff make it easy to get the car and with the "Pay-On-Line" option it is so easy to track the payments and to verify that they have been completed. Thanks so much to all the staff at Happy Motors for their full support and ease at which this sale went. The experience was awesome!!! PS: This is the second car we have bought from Happy Motors and hands down they are the best! Looking forward to our next new Dodge RAM. More

My grandson purchased a truck from Happy Motors on 30 Jul 2013. The truck had issues and the salesman told my grandson that the issues had been fixed. Shortly after driving the truck for awhile my grandson s 2013. The truck had issues and the salesman told my grandson that the issues had been fixed. Shortly after driving the truck for awhile my grandson saw that the new tires were wearing very fast. We took the truck to a master mechanic for evaluation. One of the problems was the entire brake system needed replacement. The mechanic said that the brakes needed to be replaced and the rotors also. The brake pads were gone and the brake was wearing into the rotors. There was also a leak in the brake line. The main purpose of going to the mechanic was to get a wheel alignment. The mechanic said that he could not align the wheels because the leaf springs were bent and warped. My grandson and his mother went back to the dealership to see what could be done. They were told to get off the property and don't come back. My grandson is only 17. His mother called the police to get their assistence to get the truck which was parked in the dealership parking lot. With the assistance of the police my grandson was allowed to take the vehicle off the parking lot. I can't believe that and dealership could treat their customers in such a bad way. The representative of the dealership said that no one promised anything. He asked for the salesman's name and was told to leave now. Don't buy from this dealership. They are only out to get your money and then their attitude changes and they don't want to talk to you anymore. More
My son went there to trade in and purchase a truck and was taken for a ride. He is an oficer in the US Army and this is how they treat our military! He purchased a truck and did not even get it home befor was taken for a ride. He is an oficer in the US Army and this is how they treat our military! He purchased a truck and did not even get it home before it stalled on him. He called the dealer and they told him to bring it in. They said it was the alternator and said that they would split the cost to replace it. He gave them 200.00 ( you can get the alternator for 100-150 easy so not sure where the split came in) for the repair and again did not make it home before the truck stalled on him again. He stopped at a parts store and they said that it could be the sensors so he purchased them another 100+ dollars and replaced them upon getting home. The next day the truck was still stalling so he took it to a local mechanic and was told that it was the timing chain cam phasers and possibly a lifter (1/2 hour to diagnose) and with parts and labor another 1600.00 possibly. When he called the dealership again they asked if he could get it there by 5pm with rush hour traffic and the way it ran and being an hour away that was impossible but he could have it there first thing on Saturday morning. They put him off until Monday Morning because their head mechanic would not be there over the weekend. On Monday my son and his father went to the dealership where they took four hours to come up with the same diagnosis after being handed the report from our mechanic. My husband tried to get them to undo the deal but all that they would offer was to eat the labor and repair it for the costs of parts. Well we all know how that turned out with the alternator which was probably fine to begin with. They would not even give them an estimate of what they would be looking at. They obviously decilned and decided to go to a dependable mechanic that we could trust. I was furious that they would treat a person in that matter so I called and spoke with a manager once I got home. He too told me that they had offered my son a warantee which they did not....... So my son has a truck that does not run with out stalling, faced with another 2,000 on top of the purchase price to hopefully get it back on the road. These people are a work of art!!!!!! They just called my son and told him that his check did not clear and that is a felony offence and they can press charges come get the truck and make him pay for it!!!!! He called the bank and the darn check had not even been presented to them for payment!!!!!!!!! So they obviously do not even know how to deposit a check..... Unreal!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY WITH THIS DEALER! I only wish that we knew about this site before we experienced it first hand! More
