UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE After discussion with Laura Mullinax, I brought my van back to Steve Landers dealership. Aside from the missing spare key, the check engine light had come on in the week since purchasing the van. Laura wanted me to get it back to them as soon as I could so that they could check it out for me. I brought the van in at a bit after 7 in the morning and was greeted by Chris Lawhon (?) in the service department. I explained who I was and he said that he was waiting for me with a new spare key to be matched with my van. This was a surprise; I didn't expect that they would provide a spare key... I particularly didn't expect them to pay for it. He already knew that the check engine light had come on and was prepared to diagnose that problem as well. He got me all checked in and showed me to the waiting area. After a short time, Laura Mullinax came to introduce herself, made sure that I knew what was happening with my van, and that I was comfortable. She updated me from time to time thru the morning as I waited for them to do their thing. As it turns out, the service department, to the best of my knowledge, fully inspected my van, diagnosed the check engine light and repaired the problems which caused the light to come on, provided a new spare key for us, and may have washed the van before bringing it back to me. They provided their service in a professional and timely manner with periodic updates to assure me that they were on the job, and finished in a reasonable amount of time. I have to say that Laura Mullinax and Chris Lawhon, together, changed my opinion of Steve Landers Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram... at least as far as the attitude and good intentions of the organization go. They were helpful, timely, on the ball and courteous. I will definitely return for service, and, given their effort at keeping my business, I'd give their sales team another chance as well.
