Add a premium to your total cost for "good customer service" If you are willing to pay a premium for “good customer service” than this is the place for you. Without going too far into detail as that would take an essay, I’ll try to make my point as brief as possible. I went to Landers to look at a car that I had seen online. I had already talked to a salesman about the car. They told me the best they could do was 16000 +fees. I went in knowing that it was above my budget, but was hoping seeing the car in person would convince my wife to spend a bit over budget. Well we ended up making an offer for 15.5. The salesman said the manager was unwilling to move further than 16K out the door. I declined, thanked them and began walking out. It was all very pleasant, and nothing out of the ordinary. Well, this is when the salesman asked me to hold on a second. The online Manager Scott came out. For 10 minutes he lectured me over and over again about how great the customer service he and the general manager provided. About how the store he had came from would not allow him to do the things he could now. He talked about how he was so accomplished at the Arkansas store and how he would bring it to Landers, quickly moving them up from #3 to #1 in Oklahoma. During his, at this point rant, I tried to explain that I understand that they provide great customer service, and I have no reason to doubt that they did. However, although I am happy to spend a bit extra at a local store, or one that provides great customer service, I can’t justify paying $1000 more (There were other similar cars priced lower). I had no qualm with them not accepting my offer. Again, I was happily walking out completely satisfied. He is the one that stopped me. And for what? To lecture me? He went as far as telling me to do my research about other dealers, and read reviews on theirs. He didn’t want to speak ill of his competitors, but that’s exactly what he did over and over. He explained that they spent the most money on ensuring used cars are rigorously tested, and so forth. How so many customers from other dealers have came to them, and how him and the GM have helped them. Again, great, but unless you are going to put in writing some guarantee that you will do XYZ for me than your words hold no monetary value. Not to mention my very first point, isn’t good customer service supposed to be the norm? I went from leaving the dealership disappointed that we couldn’t work something out to well pretty pissed off. I was pretty darn closed to turning around and telling Scott off, but thought better of it. Even my wife got up and gave me the xxx was that all about look. And on a side note. I did research Landers. Like many of the 1 star reviews said, changing your name from David Stanley to Landers doesn’t really change your bad reputation, especially when you have a lot of the same people working there… More

The vehicle I purchased has had a slow leak in one of the tires for THE ENTIRE 2 and 1/2 weeks we have owned it. It will not hold air for more then 12-24 hours. I informed the dealership & NOTHING was done. They took my information & said they'd get back to me. I've not heard a thing. Meanwhile I have a tire that is not repairable due to a patch being placed on the SIDEWALL. I was told they do not patch tires, so it wasn't their fault. I agree that it isn't their fault. BUT they had to air the tire up as it hasn't held air from the day we bought it. I was able to get them to replace it, for $180 OUT OF MY POCKET!!! I refused. If this had been 6 months since I purchased the vehicle, then yes I should be liable for the cost, but swing as this CAME OFF THE LOT with the problem I would like them to fix it. It's simple really. Do business the right way & people won't be forced to leave ugly reviews to get your attention. More
