Does not stand behind product, poor customer service The worst customer service I have EVER experienced was at David Stanley Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram in Norman, Oklahoma over the weekend of 3/21/15 and pe The worst customer service I have EVER experienced was at David Stanley Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram in Norman, Oklahoma over the weekend of 3/21/15 and people should be aware of the significant lack of concern, communication, and just basic service we received. On Saturday, March 21st, we drove 2 ½ hours to Norman to check out a Chrysler Town & Country van we had been in the market to buy for weeks. We arrived at 5 pm and after test driving and negotiating, eventually purchased this vehicle. We left the dealership at around 9:30, but did not get on the road until about 11 as we have 2 small children, and needed to attend to them and gas up before we headed on the road. A few minutes into the drive we noticed the heat was not working. Then, about 20 miles up the road, the engine overheat indicator light came on. We immediately pulled off the nearest off ramp to investigate. When we opened the hood, there was coolant/radiator fluid dripping ALL over the engine block. We tried to cool the engine and refill fluids so we could maybe make it back to the dealership We also texted our sales associate, Michelle, in hopes we could get some assistance. After we were unsuccessful at getting the engine to cool, we called Michelle several times, but she never answered.. We had to call a tow truck and a taxi (as we could not fit 2 car seats in the tow truck) to take us back to a hotel near the dealership. At this point we were stranded in the middle of the night with no car and no provisions with small children in a strange town and our dogs kenneled at home. We were upset to say the least, but we figured we could get in contact with someone in the morning on Sunday. Sunday morning we attempted to contact our sales rep again, and eventually she TEXTED an apology with an explanation that nothing could be done until Monday. We tried to call her immediately after we received her text and she didn’t answer or respond. We texted her explaining we just needed a number and a name of a manager or someone higher up who could assist us, at least get us a loaner car to get home! She did not respond. We also attempted contacting a 24/7 chat service on their website but they could not provide us with any information to help. We tried every way we could to contact someone to help us. As all of the car rental places were closed on Sunday, my husband took another taxi to the airport to rent a car. Michelle eventually texted (again, TEXTED, not called) back, just giving information about who to contact on Monday morning. We drove back home that afternoon quite upset at receiving no help or resolution from a company at what we saw as an emergency situation. We did not get a call on Monday morning, so my husband called and talked to the Sales Manager, RJ, who didn’t know anything about the situation. He also informed us that he was WORKING IN THE DEALERSHIP ON SUNDAY and could have helped. He said he would call us back with information. Hours later he had not called so we called and he vaguely explained that it was a minor issue with a hose coming loose and they would fix it. He assured us he would call when it was done. Hours later again he hadn’t called, we called again and apparently he had left for the night without letting us know the situation. We called in Tuesday morning and spoke with the Service department manager, Brent, who was the only person in this whole ordeal who seemed to know the meaning of the word Service. He informed us that they were waiting on a part (which we were not previously told) which should be in that morning and he would call when it was done. He did call back and leave a message about the car. At this point, my husband had already had taken off a day of work and took off another half day to retrieve the car. We also at this point had racked up a few hundred dollars in bills from hotel stay, taxi rides, and car rental fees. While he was there picking up the van, he was NEVER approached by any representatives for an official apology, and was essentially shrugged off with any attempt to talk to any higher up authorities. They never offered to cover ANY of our accrued bills associated with this mess and never addressed it past fixing the car. When pressed to reimburse these expenses, they refused and indicated that they had fixed the problem at their expense. Surprised by their total lack of dignity to accept responsibility for our losses on a car that could not even get us home, my husband left the dealership and actually made it home in the van. After leaving this Facebook review we were contacted the next day by the customer service/public relations representative, Allie. She was very apologetic and sweet, and was very insistent she wanted to fix the problem and make us happy, and seemed very sincere. I explained the situation and told her what we felt they could do to right the situation. I thanked her for the apology and told her that covering our related expenses (hotel, car rental, taxi trips; we did not include my husbands time off work, nor additional gas costs or toll charges) would satisfy us. She also requested we remove this review. I agreed, but under the assumption it would be done after we received word on a resolution. At that point, I updated under the comments with the actions by the dealership. The next day my husband received a call from RJ, the sales manager, who basically told him that since they had "fixed the van at a cost of "$600" and they felt that was enough to remedy the situation so they would not be recompensing us the expenses. I then got a call from Allie, who gave us a totally different response. She told me that her manager agreed to pay 1/2 the cost of the rental car and the hotel cost. This would be equal to approximately $175. Since all of our costs totaled around $500+ we were upset at this offer. we were also given another option of getting our old car and additional money back. Both of these were contingent on us removing the review on Facebook. We are not easily upset people, we can usually take poor service in stride due to extenuating circumstances. But in this case, it felt like failure after failure to try and step forward to make this right for the sake of making it right and having happy customers, instead of doing it to keep themselves out of trouble. Honestly, had this been solved sooner, with respect and genuine want to please their customer, we would not have left a bad review. At this point we decided as we are not beggars or extortionists, we would not take either deal. We felt there were no further issues with the car and in order to keep our dignity this review would remain up to warn everyone. In all of this, the only person who seemed to be trying to genuinely remedy the situation was Allie, who we viewed as being handed a great mess by her superiors and told to fix the impossible. Obviously we understand it wasn't a new car and things break down and happen, but it was obviously a failure on their part to properly inspect and fix any obvious issues prior to sale. After going through this exhausting ordeal we were just ready to be done. We didn't feel we were requesting anything obscene, just coverage of what the dealership would have provided us if they had helped us initially, that is, transportation. The car problem could have very well come up while we were test driving the car as we had related issues (heat not coming on) as we left the lot. We were never offered any resolution while in town, left with big bills, had to take off days of work, stranded with small children in an unfamiliar town, and given very meager options for resolution at the last minute, only after we raised a fuss online. For a place we had just spent thousands of dollars at, we expected more. I would NEVER recommend them and would go as far as to tell people to AVOID this dealership and most of the staff we encountered. It was a long, stressful weekend that could have been a positive customer service story had they handled the situation responsibly. VERY, very, very disappointed and angry!!! Never use this dealership if you want any decent customer service or care!! More
