One negative employee can impair experience The first person I encountered when taking my Prius in for an oil change was not friendly nor helpful. He motioned me in and when I explained I was a The first person I encountered when taking my Prius in for an oil change was not friendly nor helpful. He motioned me in and when I explained I was a bit nervous about getting out in 1.5 hrs to go to a doctor’ appointment, he said they couldn’t guarantee it because something might come up with another vehicle to delay my getting out in time. He then said I could come back another time if I wanted. I completed the paperwork and the next fellow was much friendlier. I expressed my concerns about getting done in time and he said he’d do what they could. After sitting in the waiting room for half an hour I decided to leave and asked the same guy to bring my car around if they hadn’t started. He said he would, but showed me to the service manager and Richard. Both expressed extreme concern over the first employee’s behavior saying 99% of the time, the oil change takes place within the allotted time. I regularly go to American Toyota for my service needs because I have received great service, friendly and helpful employees. This was the first time I had an interaction with someone so discouraging. It’s unfortunate, but I am undecided whether I will return. More
