Double checking by American Totyota saved me money! A few weeks ago I left work, unlocked my 2012 Tacoma, hopped in the driver seat, and what do you know, my truck won't start. This truck is built so sm A few weeks ago I left work, unlocked my 2012 Tacoma, hopped in the driver seat, and what do you know, my truck won't start. This truck is built so smart that accessories plugged in require the truck to be started; if I leave my interior lights on they turn off within 30 minutes; exterior lights turn off as soon as I open the door. I ask a kind stranger for a jump and the truck starts right up. I had plans that night so I headed straight to Auto Zone to have the batter tested. As soon as I turn my truck off at Auto Zone it will not start. Surely a drive from Downtown to the Westside would be enough to charge the battery. We proceed with testing the battery but get no response. One of the workers gave me a jump and we tested the battery with the truck running; still no results. The gentlemen decides to test further and tells me I have a dead diode in my alternator; not the way I wanted to start my weekend. I called American Toyota to determine the cost for replacing the alternator. Because of some of the features I selected when custom ordering the truck, mine will be the more expensive of the two possible alternators; the 130-Amp. Alternator repair was going to be upwards up $600. throw in a replacement battery and repairs are quickly approaching $800. Considering the majority of the cost for the alternator was the part itself, I decide it's worth it to let someone with more knowledge install the part so I make an appointment for 9:30 AM Monday morning. I showed up at American a little before 7:00 AM on Monday, tell the service manager what I believe the issue is, and warn him not to turn the truck off as, once again, I had to get a jump to get there. I decide to wait in the waiting area as they have Wi-Fi and I could get some work done. Shortly after arriving the service manager came and met me in the lobby. He told me that they ran tests on the alternator which was operating fine. They also ran tests on the starter to make sure it wasn't drawing too much. The starter also passed their test. Turned out to be a dead battery. $130 for a new battery was very welcomed compared to the $800 I had planned on spending to get my truck up and running. Not only did American install the battery for free, they also washed my truck before returning it to me. Great customer service! I was also out the door before my original appointment time of 9:30. More

Fabulous Experience I was just going in too look as I already own a RAV 4 for over 10 years. Due to the safety and reliability of my car that I am proud to pass on to my I was just going in too look as I already own a RAV 4 for over 10 years. Due to the safety and reliability of my car that I am proud to pass on to my daughter, I went with Toyota again. My personal mechanics highly suggested to stick with Toyota as it is much more reliable, easier to repair cost wise down the road, and they last forever. My salesman, Charles Tauzer, was super personable, easy going, and knowledgeable about every car on the lot. It was great to hear him talk about his own personal Toyota vehicle and all the "high tech gadgets" that were intimidating to me. The overall experience was fabulous, friendly, hassle free, relaxed, and I left extremely satisfied about purchasing a new RAV 4 limited. It is a super luxiourious car for me, but I deserve it! It will be well taken care of like my other RAV 4 and I'm sure it will take care of me too (safety wise)! Thank you American Toyota. More
