Typical dealership tactics The salesperson spent a lot the time looking at his phone and talking about his wife and his finances. He even showed me his expired insurance card The salesperson spent a lot the time looking at his phone and talking about his wife and his finances. He even showed me his expired insurance card "his wife gave him" to carry in his wallet. The dealership finance department is like a typical dealership that doesn't listen to your budget limits. I told them what my bottom dollar could be and they came out with the figure we could deal with. BUT, by the time it came time to sign papers, the figure was over $100 more. When asked how they can give a figure if the "banks are closed", they say they can use the "bank format" based on our credit scores. On a Friday evening, the "banks are closed" so they can't get the final financing done, BUT, they can tell you the figure and have you sign papers. They even let you drive the new vehicle home (without financing). On Monday, they let you know the financing didn't go through, but they have another way to work around it. Oh, but you have to drive back to the dealer (40 minute drive) and sign a different round of papers, that shows a higher interest rate and only one of you can sign. Oh yes, the figure has gone up again, as well as the interest rate. At that time, I should have said, give me back my trade in and I'll be on my way. I didn't and once again the dealership suckered another customer. We decided that if we were called back to sign papers again, we would just ask for our trade in back. I pray I never have to buy another vehicle. I hope I am dead and gone by then. Yesterday, we received a call, an email and a text that they now need the current insurance information. I was able to respond to them last night stating they were going to have to be patient as I was dealing with 2 babies (who had just been taken away from their mother). Again this morning before 9 AM, we receive a text from Jon Rohde that if I didn't get him a copy of the insurance card, then he would have to force coverage. Once again, I felt like returning the new vehicle and asking for the trade in back. Unfortunately, my husband already dealt with Larry Miller Volkswagen a couple of years ago and had to go back to them 3 times to re-sign papers. Just have a bad taste in our mouth. More
