Every experience we have had with Larry H Miller following the purchase of our car has been nothing short of a nightmare. However, this most recent experience has topped them all. When we purchased the car, we were also talked in to purchasing the extended warranty. Of course the sales/finance guy explained how it would cover literally anything we needed to replace. We hardly ever use the sunroof on our Palisade, and of course it breaks as soon as we tried to use it recently. Keep in mind our car is less than 3 years old. We call Larry H Miller to see if this is covered by our extended warranty and are told we don’t have the extended warranty and are past the warranty timeframe due to our mileage. Basically, we are out of luck. Luckily, we’ve kept a record of all our purchases and had the documents proving the purchase of the extended warranty. It must have been a pure coincidence that they were able to find it in their system as soon as we let them know we had proof of purchase. Anyways, they told us that any Larry H Miller could fix the sunroof with the warranty. We live in East Mesa and went to a dealership that is close by. They said that the sunroof would need several parts ordered in and that could only be done at a Larry H Miller Hyundai location, which is in Peoria an hour away. We called them and had to go back through the frustrating experience of explaining that we do in fact have the extended warranty. After again stating that we had proof of purchase and again them miraculously finding it on their end, they said they couldn’t take instructions or findings from the Larry H Miller in Mesa and would have to inspect the car themselves. I should mention that at this time my husband was out of town, I have three young children (one of which is a newborn) and I had an open sunroof that couldn’t be closed. Obviously driving an hour each way and sitting with three young children in the dealership was not ideal. This began the many conversations with our “advisor” Ashley. Ashley was not sympathetic in the least. It was clearly not her problem that I purchased my car there, that I had three kids that would be sitting there for hours, and she had no intention of providing us with a rental for any period of time. When we arrived, Ashley was extreme unfriendly. I was told to take a seat and they would give updates. After THREE HOURS I was told it couldn’t be fixed and they would have to request parts to be sent to their store. I would also have to return at a later time to have it fixed. You can imagine my frustration… However, I was appalled to see how they taped up my car, with pieces of tape and plastic falling off. For the amount of money we have spent at this dealership it appeared as if we were driving around in trash. I get in the car with my now hungry and irritable kids, only to face the loudest noise when getting on the freeway. The plastic and tape were causing the noise in the car to be unbearable. My newborn was uncontrollably crying from the noise, yet I couldn’t hear her over the sound from the sunroof. I turned around and went right back to the service center. I let Ashley know and was confronted with “I don’t know what you expect us to do. I already told you that we aren’t providing a rental car”. First, a little empathy is customer service can go a long way. Second, I let her know that I would accept a letter from the company accepting responsibility for any hearing damage my daughter acquired as a result of their shoddy repairs. This luckily got her attention and allowed me to speak with a manager. Honestly I was happy to work with anyone other than her. The manager was initially very defensive (I’m sure based on whatever Ashley told him), but I calmly explained that I needed a way to get my kids home (again over an hour away) without destroying their hearing. He seemed slightly sympathetic and said he would have his mechanics retape the sunroof. After this was done, we were sent on our way with no ETA on when the parts would be delivered. Several months (and many calls) later, the parts arrived and we drove an hour back to the store to find out they couldn’t fix it that day. Luckily they decided to provide a rental (maybe because I had requested to never work with Ashley again and the new “advisor” had a little more respect). Although we were the ones that had to constantly follow up for updates, we were able to go pick up our car several days later. However, the tape they had put on the roof had left so much residue that they were unable to clean it off. The mechanic we spoke with even admitted that the original taping was done by a new mechanic and was very poorly done. He told us that he would make a note and we could bring it back another day during business hours to have it cleaned off. Are you kidding me? We’ve waited MONTHS and spent HOURS on you to fix our car, and you give it back to us in poor condition requesting we drive back an hour to have it cleaned? I will end my review with this- my husband and I have always owned Hondas. In fact, my husband has had his Honda civic since 2016 and has never had a single issue. Anytime we have worked with Honda representatives we are treated with respect and professionalism. I will never purchase through Hyundai after this experience and am tempted to trade my car in to Honda at this point. More

Melissa my service advisor was very prompt in checking me in, I told her I would wait at the dealer and she directed me to a very nice waiting area filled with snacks and coffee.
