Darren always remembers my name, my family’s names and anything else we discussed from our last visit. I had a headlight go out and a dealership in Topeka was telling me that I had to take the bumper off etc to change this bulb. I called Darren and he went up and above to help me out. I recently lost my Dad...who was not a fan of letting a dealership work on cars. He trusted Darren and his staff to take care of me. Darren is one of a kind!!!!!!!! More

They had several used Camry's listed online with the lowest prices compared to others in the area. I immediately wondered what was wrong with them. After reading reviews on several sites I noticed people mentioning that Lawrence Kia adds several high fees to the price. I contacted them via email asking what fees they add to the sales price. I got a response (from Leslie Brown) saying, "In addition to the sales price, there is a $399.00 administration fee.". I then responded saying that I noticed several reviews mentioned a $750 dealer prep fee and that they don't always honor their online sales price. She responded saying that they are a prestigious Kia award winner and completely ignored my question. So I responded again asking specifically: "So you are saying that there isn't a $750 prep fee and that you'll honor the online prices?". She responded: "Yes sir, we honor our online price", and asked if I wanted to lay down a deposit to take the cars off the market. She seemed to not want to answer the dealer prep fee question. I was feeling frustrated at this point and just replied that I don't want to put a deposit down and that I was going to look at some other cars. She then email back: "My best product specialist Ken is going to contact you and answer your questions." I didn't reply back and then 25 minutes later she replied with this: "Ken's with a customer right now. If we are able to waive that dealer prep fee would you be able to come in or leave a refundable deposit on the car?" So finally after about 5 emails I was able to confirm that they charge another fee. I waited a day to reply and sent a lengthy email saying that I was conflicted about coming to their dealership because they couldn't honestly answer a simple question ("What fees do you charge on top of the sales price"). Her reply was: "I understand your concern. I'm only in customer service and I don't work on the sales floor. The information available to me is the prices you and I see on the internet." Isn't it customer services job to know that kind of information? After my first inquiry about the fee why didn't she ask someone else to verify? Honestly it felt like they were just deflecting to try and get me in the door. My gut was telling me to not even bother since I couldn't even trust them on a simple issue of disclosing fees. I decided that I should still take a look just in case it was something I couldn't pass up. I emailed her saying that I am most interested in the out the door price (sales price plus all fees) and if it fell within my budget then I would stop by. I got an email back from Sam Rajapakse saying they could make that work. The dealership has very little space for parking and I had to park in their service area next to a bunch of cars that were getting ready to be serviced. I met Erika and she was very friendly and helpful. She is the main reason I am rating my experience a 3. Without her my rating is a 1. She took time with me to test drive two cars and was not pushy at all. The cars were it good condition but both were covered in dust on the outside. After the test drive Erika took me back inside to meet her manager. He was okay but was a little pushy. I said that I wanted their best out the door offer on the car. No surprise the price was the exact number I gave them for my budget. In the end I decided to go with another car that had less miles and was in better shape. I let Erika know that I chose another car and thanked her for her help. I never got a response back. All in all I would not recommend people to go here mainly because I think they are deceptive in trying to get people in the door. You can see that in other reviews on various sites. They intentionally list the cars with the lowest price in the area knowing that people will pay the extra fees. If you do decide to go here know that you do not have to pay the $745 dealer prep fee. I visited five dealers while looking for my car and Lawrence Kia was the only one that charges this. I even mentioned it to all the other dealers I visited and they all laughed and said it is just a way for them to build more profit into the final price. Erika deserves to be working in a more honest place. More
