I am a first time pre owned Lexus owner. Mike Gruver, my salesman at Lexus of Austin, was awesome. My wife and I stopped by Lexus of Austin to shop pre-owned vehicles because we knew they had a sizable inventory. We have owned two pre-owned RX 350's (a 2005 and a 2013) both of which were purchas pre-owned vehicles because we knew they had a sizable inventory. We have owned two pre-owned RX 350's (a 2005 and a 2013) both of which were purchased used (the 2013 was purchased from Lexus of Austin in 2015) and have served us extremely well over the last 17-1/2 years. My wife loves the size and quality of her RX 350s and we expected a similar positive experience if we found a vehicle we liked. We looked at the available inventory, but didn't find anything that exactly matched what we had in mind. We are older and my wife was really wanting at least one more new car so we decided to keep looking. The salesman, Mike Gruber, was very helpful and when I found and incentive program online for 2023 models I got back in contact with Mike. He did a nationwide search, but was unable to locate a vehicle with the exterior/interior color combination that we desired. He did, however, locate a 2024 ordered by another dealer that matched our requirements. We decided to go with that option, but then a few weeks in, there was a glitch and the vehicle became "unavailable". Mike had already located another RX in the production queue which matched the vehicle we thought we had "locked up". It did add time, but fortunately we weren't in a rush and even though we had to wait almost 3 months, we are extremely happy with our decision to wait and get just what we wanted. Mike kept us informed as much as he could regarding the expected production window and shipping dates for "our" RX. After our RX finally arrived we weren't able to pick it up immediately, but everyone at Lexus of Austin was extremely accommodating and the closing went very smoothly. On first contact Camey Martinez, promised she would do everything she could to find us the car with the specifications provided. Sure enough, within two weeks she called saying she had the perfect car fo everything she could to find us the car with the specifications provided. In addition, she made the buying experience easy and painless and had us in our new RX 350 in a short amount of time. The finance department was organized and obviously very experienced. The documents were all signed and we were out the door in only a few minutes. Jenny, the tech representative gave a great overview of all the new gadgets and has since answered follow up questions by phone. What a pleasure to work with the staff at Lexus of Austin. When I first walked into the dealership I had no expectations of the dealership, but by the time I was done buying the car, I felt like the salesperson was intentionally lying to me. I first walked in to buy an RX 350 the sales person met me at the door and told me the only one they had was the one in the lobby. I said that's the only one, he then asked me what I was looking for, so I said a white, he check on the computer and said oh we have one in the back, lie number 1. I then tried to get the trade in value for my Honda so he told me they look at KBB which said it was 2k however, he said he can only offer 1500 without seeing the car. When he thought he was going to lose the sale he offered me 2k for the car only if I signed the agreement for the agreed upon price. I then stated that I thought you couldn't offer me full trade in without seeing the car or get approval from supervisor, he just looked dumbfounded. I used there financing to buy the car with a high FICO score, however, I got an 8.2% rate which is 3 percent higher than my credit union. I will refinance this week because I felt taken advantage through the whole process. More
