My experience purchasing a Lexus RX 450h+ in August 2025 has left me extremely disappointed. One of the factors that influenced my decision to purchase this vehicle was the representation that it would q has left me extremely disappointed. One of the factors that influenced my decision to purchase this vehicle was the representation that it would qualify for the federal clean vehicle tax credit. During the sales process, I was informed that I would be eligible for the credit because the vehicle qualified as an electric vehicle. When I later encountered issues filing my taxes because the VIN could not be found in the IRS database, I contacted the dealership and spoke with the salesperson again. I was reassured that the vehicle qualified and that I should be eligible for the credit. Relying on those assurances, I consulted with an accountant and ultimately paper-filed my tax return with the supporting documentation. Months later, I received a determination from the IRS stating that I did not qualify for the credit and would not receive the expected refund. What is most frustrating is not simply the loss of the tax credit, but the fact that I made financial decisions based on information that appears to have been inaccurate. When I later raised my concerns, I was informed that the salesperson did not recall making the statements that I clearly remember discussing. I do want to acknowledge Joshua Brundon for his professionalism and responsiveness. He returned my calls, listened to my concerns, and treated me respectfully throughout the process. However, I believe consumers should exercise caution and independently verify any tax incentives, rebates, or credits discussed during the sales process. Had I known that the vehicle would not qualify for the credit I was expecting, it would have affected my purchasing decision. I hope the dealership takes steps to ensure that future customers receive accurate information regarding tax credits and other financial incentives associated with vehicle purchases. More
