Credit card companied have always charged a fee for usage. Companies had accepted the practice since they wanted to protect customers from possibly being robbed or losing money. There are services out there that do not charge, and others that are brave enough to notify there customers prior to the service being given, Maybe that is a policy all businesses should follow.
