Used car purchase- had a good experience. Nice people. I was shopping for a clean, used Tacoma. Based on my budget (about 10 grand) I had to widen my search quite a bit from where I live (Dutchess Co. NY). I was shopping for a clean, used Tacoma. I saw a nice looking '09 on the dealer's website, but with all the info on the web on Tacomas, I was concerned about the possibility of frame issues. Matthew Middler had the service team put the truck on a lift and send me frame pictures to put my mind at ease. In addition, Koren O'Sulllivan called me and explained how the a Toyota certifed inspection had been done on the truck's frame. It was deemed good, and then there was a sealer applied to it as a precaution. With that info, I figured it was worth seeing, so game on.. It's a 2 hr drive from where I live in NY to Northhampton Mass. When I finally got there, Koren had the truck all ready for me to look over and to take for a spin. I was a little worried on my way up that the truck might still be disappointing somehow. I was relieved however once I saw it as it was as nice as the ad stated. I decided I'd like to buy it, but wasn't sure how I'd be able to get it back to NY. Koren had mentioned earlier on the phone that Lia would deliver it to me in NY at no charge. Now at the moment of truth, I was worried there would be a catch. "Not so" was the answer he gave me, so, While I was a little surprised I couldn't negotiate a little off their asking price, I felt it was offered at a fair price, so I left a deposit. A few days later, I had the check for the balance Fed Ex'd to them. On the business side, I had the pleasure of working with Mr. Larace (Rocky). He helped make the transaction go smoothly, and turned out to be an affable fellow as well.. The only surprise I had in the whole experience was the $500 dealer documentation fee. Having bought all of my cars in NY, you typically don't see a fee that exceeds $100 or so, Still, they kept their promise to me and drove the car to me in Dutchess Co, NY, a 140 mile trip, 1 way, to help me register the car. (Thank you again David and your associate, with apologies for forgetting your name so quickly). So, with such personal service after the sale, I feel I got great added value which helped offset a good piece of the doc fee. I would say that all in all, shopping and buying from Lia Toyota of Norhthampton was a very good experience. I'd rate them as a dealership that's well worthy of doing business with. A special mention to Koren O'Sullivan on the sales team. He was very attentive, knowledgeable and courteous throughout the whole sale process. Thank you Koren! More
