GREAT EXPERIENCE WITH LIBERTY AUTO PLAZA NEW CAR PURCHASE A huge thank you to Muhammed (Mo) and Guillermo of Liberty Auto Plaza for the honest and transparent pricing and pleasant experience when p PURCHASE A huge thank you to Muhammed (Mo) and Guillermo of Liberty Auto Plaza for the honest and transparent pricing and pleasant experience when purchasing my new 2023 Nissan Sentra SV. Unfortunately, this is extremely rare with today’s car dealerships. Both staff from the start were respectful of me as a purchaser and did not treat me like a mark. In my first phone conversation with Mo, I told him what I believed the OUT-THE-DOOR price would be, based on what the MSRP, Destination Charges, Liberty Auto Plaza Seller price, what Dealer Doc fees (which are limited to $347 by Illinois state law) should be, Title, Registration, and Tax. Mo agreed and we were done. Just prior to sitting down with them when I arrived the next day, I checked out the unit I was getting to make sure there were no issues, test drove it, and Guillermo went through an orientation of the car. (Note to buyer-do your research of the car and specific unit before you call. Know what it should be priced and what you are willing to pay, before even contacting a dealer. They should respect your knowledge. Mo and Guillermo did. If a dealer does not, and still tries to push things on you, bait and switch prices different than advertised, walk away.) Both on our phone conversation and when I arrived at the dealership, there was no pressure, or add-ons, no push to finance with them, unnecessary services, etc. encouraged or urged for me to buy. We again checked the price I figured against theirs and they actually charged me slightly less than I had figured. In 15 minutes of sitting down with them, I had an agreed upon written price. When asked if I was trading in my old vehicle, I said, “Depends on their offer,” they appraised it and gave me an offer. They honestly told me that since although my car was in good shape and had extremely low miles for an 18-year-old car, I would get a better price if I sold it by myself. I thought a bit and then to not have to go through the extra work of selling it on my own, I accepted their trade-in offer, even though it was about $1,000 less I may get on my own. I was there an additional one hour for them to finish the final cleanup and prep of the new car, while I went through the paperwork with the finance staff. (I had only called them the late afternoon before about this specific unit, not giving them much time to prep it earlier.) Again, they did not pressure me to buy an extended warranty or to finance with them. When offered and I said, “No thank you,” we moved on. This is how honest, easy, and quick a purchase of a new car should be. I highly recommend Mo, Guillermo, and Liberty Auto Plaza. More
They used bait and switch to get me in. I have not been this pissed off in a long time. This was over 5 months ago now and I'm still upset about it. Over the weekend I called many Kia dea I have not been this pissed off in a long time. This was over 5 months ago now and I'm still upset about it. Over the weekend I called many Kia dealers and all had some sort of mark up over MSRP but I talked with Matthew at Liberty Kia on the phone and he promised they didn’t mark up prices over MSRP and wanted me to come in to place an order for a Sportage hybrid since they don't know how to do business over phones or computers I guess. He said in many ways that they "didn’t do business like that" (referring to overcharging customers) and only sold at MSRP - he sounded like a genuinely nice and honest man. I walked in for my appointment, which I admit, I was skeptical of because, do they not know how to use computers? I wish I had called to confirm I actually had to make the hour-long drive in. A white guy in his late 20s/early 30s with long hair greeted me (Kyle), told me he "couldn’t find my name in the system" and that he would just help me because I had forgotten my notes with Matthew's name on it. He asked if I had gotten prices from other dealers, and I told him again I had and that's why I came here - because I talked to someone who said you sold at MSRP. He came back with a printed quote with a rate thousands over MSRP and said they couldn't sell at MSRP. I left, more angry than I've ever been from any customer service interaction in my life. I called Matthew back after the fact, got in writing in an email that they don't charge over MSRP but... fool me once.... I have decided to go back to Toyotas after this terrible Kia experience. More
I have been in the market for a new car and was torn between the Ionic 5 Limited and the EV6 Wind. At Liberty Auto Plaza I drove the EV6 Wind - great car! While I changed my mind at the last minute, I have to give a big thank you to the Sales person, Kyle Tayfel. He was always very polite, respectful and handled all of our conversations in a professional manner. II would highly recommend the dealership and Kyle. More
Never in my life have I been treated so poorly. Talked to Marco and we had a deal. Drove 45 minutes only to be told by another salesman the car was sold! Already gave all our information. I would give a lower rating if it was possible. Bought a Kia k5 last month for my son. Charge over msrp but don’t tell you until you are 2 hours into dealing. Require you to finance after you come Bought a Kia k5 last month for my son. Charge over msrp but don’t tell you until you are 2 hours into dealing. Require you to finance after you come to a dealer stacked agreement. The AC breaks after I’ve month. Poor design or cheap parts. Road rocks pass through the grill and puncture the condenser. NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY. Won’t even consider the part might be defective or poor quality. Want $1400 to fix it. They said@ it’s like a rock hitting the windshield. Disagree. The windshield still protects you. It doesn’t shatter. It performs its job. The condenser punctured and no longer performs its job of cooling. Recall the part or redesign! This dealer never returned my calls then was condescending when i drove in to discuss. My son is a mechanical engineer in the auto industry and works in quality control. The dealer should take responsibility and subsequently make Kia assume responsibility. More
Sells Nissans with bad transmissions and will not honor the warranty! I paid 3900 to fix my own transmission. I would have NEVER purchased this vehicle knowing about the class action lawsuit against Nissan the warranty! I paid 3900 to fix my own transmission. I would have NEVER purchased this vehicle knowing about the class action lawsuit against Nissan due to malfunctioning transmissions. They never made me aware of this before purchasing. That’s how they get over and get the money from these finance companies. So quick to make a quick buck but no good intentions for the customer. 16,000 car I’m still paying on too! Do not buy here! BEWARE: This dealer advertises cars on the internet and then adds on thousands to the advertised price when you go there to look at the car and purchase it. I suggest that you not waste your time. They are then adds on thousands to the advertised price when you go there to look at the car and purchase it. I suggest that you not waste your time. They are phonies and feel no shame when called-out on doing it. Kyle (sales) shrugs his shoulders when the deceptive practice was cited. Consumers can do one thing with a retailer like this - STOP going there and stop buying from them! More
