I went to the dealership to look into leasing a new vehicle. After walking around the lot for a brief moment, I entered the store and spoke with the receptionist. I let him know why I was here, and he vehicle. After walking around the lot for a brief moment, I entered the store and spoke with the receptionist. I let him know why I was here, and he directed me to take a seat while waiting for a salesperson. I was approached by the salesperson and told him exactly what I was here for, and upfront before anything else, told him that I had a lot of negative equity that I would need to roll in. I told him that I was interested in the Jetta, but was immediately told that wouldn't work. He asked me to take a seat while he spoke with his manager. He came back out and said that he could show me a VW CC. I looked at the car in the showroom, but told him it wasn't really what I was looking for. We took a walk around the lot and he showed me the various trims of the CC. I told him I liked the look of the Passat better, but he was persistent on showing me a CC. I decided to just let him show me the CC so that we could get it over with. (Never have I been to a dealer that was trying so hard to push stock. My concerns did not seem important at all). After a short amount of time, we went back inside so he could get the keys of a CC aswell as a Passat TDI. After a long wait, he returned with keys and a dealer tag. I got in the CC, and immediately decided I was not interested at all in the vehicle. I returned the keys shortly thereafter and asked to see the Passat. I took that vehicle on a test drive and told him I was more interested in looking into the Passat TDI. During the test driving, the salesperson took my key to have my vehicle appraised. Almost an hour later, he informed me that they were offering $7000 UNDER BLUE BOOK for my vehicle. I've never seen a dealer take an hour to appraise a vehicle. The dealership only wanted to push stock and did not appear to take in any of my comments or consider what I wanted in another vehicle. More
