The Advertised Price Isn't Real I was spent several hours at this dealership and left disappointed. I was shopping for a new VW Atlas. They had one on the lot I was interested in, the dealership was very nicely setup and the employees were friendly at first. The problem was that their advertised price did not include about $1,700 in fees and transportation expenses. Also, I was told that if I did not accept their financing with a high percentage rate, I would lose even more of my "discount" ($1,000). The 1.9% APR rate advertised by VW doesn't seem to be available here at all. They also valued my trade at least $2500 under low KBB and NADA trade value. Carvana offered me $2,000 more for my car, sight unseen. So, with everything considered, my payment for this car initially would have been over $600 a month for 60 months. During the negotiation they came down to around $550 a month, but this was still $100 a month more than their advertised pricing and fair trade value would have resulted in. After I realized that I was not going to be able to buy a car here, I thanked my salesman and offered to shake his hand. He said something about me not being a serious buyer if I was leaving and refused my handshake. Pretty unprofessional, but kind of says it all about this dealer. Anyway, I'm going to look elsewhere. This dealers deceptive advertising practices did not earn my business. I ended up buying a Honda Pilot instead. Honda dealers do not advertise a discounted vehicle price based upon the customer accepting high rate financing or qualifying for discounts that are not applicable. The Honda dealer matched Carvana's offer on my trade-in and got me a better finance rate than I could get a my local credit union. Plus, I got real leather seats in a vehicle that is $15,000 less than the only Atlas without pleather (SEL Premium). More
