First of all I spent hours looking for just the right car and even got numbers from them on what the car would be in monthly payment and SRI stuck with entire time not being the usual sales guy who only cares about getting a customer to buy. I was very happy with every detail of the process and I ended up buying a Jetta that had the same options as the car I came to see in addition to a better rate and warranty now that is great customer service. 21.5K + state tax for new GTI, but regret it I paid $21.5K plus state tax (and maybe tags) for a 2017 GTI red S manual model on 12/6/2017. All in all, the car was about $22.5K. At the time, if you previously owned a VW, theyd knock another thousand off. My motor has a shake to it. Google it. It's VW fish bite. At idle when the car is warm, after about a minute, the motor starts to stumble. It's like an irregular heartbeat. I use 93 Shell or Costco (and almost exclusively Costco) fuel. I spent about a month and a half working with the dealer and VOA before I had had enough and decided to go elsewhere. I'm pretty sure this issue is because of a less-than-perfect feedback loop controlling the motor, which might or might not be OK. Anyways, isn't worth the stress or the time. Bottom Line: I regret buying the car (even though its so much fun and I got a great deal), and should have stuck to honda/toyota. Car still shudders at stop lights and it drives me nuts. More
