We have received your review from your visit with us. It is unfortunate that you were unable to get your issue fixed. I understand your visit was less than satisfactory. However, we tried to fix your issue, but we could not duplicate the problem you had been having. I also understand that it had to do with a USB plugged into your system. Your complaint was that one time while you were driving the USB stopped working, but when you turned the car off and back on again, it worked. Sometimes those USB devices can be a little tricky. For example, your cord of device could have been temporarily malfunctioning or be a bad cord all together. USB drives are also well known for having issues. The only reason you were told that we would not help you, is because of your disrespect to the staff here at Linwood. We did our best to help you with your problem. However, we were met with yelling, name calling, and an all around lack of respect. After you left, our GM also reached out to you in an attempt rectify the situation.

Statement: "Your complaint was that one time while you were driving the USB stopped working, but when you turned the car off and back on again, it worked." Accurate information: My issue was (and remains) that several times (intermittently), both USB ports stopped functioning, as if they were not present in the system. This was NOT corrected by cycling power on the vehicle. Indeed, one of the reported instances of this inoperability persisted for approximately 12 hours. Statement: "...your cord [or] device could have been temporarily malfunctioning, or be a bad cord..." Accurate information: This quirkiness of USB devices is known and acknowledged, which is why my own troubleshooting prior to calling UConnect, Dodge, or Linwood Motors included using multiple cords and multiple devices on each of the two malfunctioning USB ports. The consistent (and reported) behavior during the periods of inoperability was that the ports were not recognized as being present in the system, regardless of what was attached or with which cord. Statement: "The only reason you were told we would not help you is because of your disrespect to the staff here at Linwood... yelling, name calling..." Accurate information: I neither yelled nor called any person by a derogatory name. Indeed, per the information I had gained from UConnect, I understood going in that a solution to the problem would not be the end result of that first visit to the shop. The process required that visit, the outcome of which was to be information about the next step in the process to get the problem fixed. I communicated that clearly, and that is when the Service Manager changed his tone from professional to unprofessional, appearing to take offense at a perceived slight that I had known the problem would not be solved that day. No actual slight was thereby given nor implied. I was given instructions by UConnect support, and attempted to follow them. Making it personal against the customer was never going to lead to the solution, and was the root of the unprofessional breakdown of that service visit. Statement: "Our GM also reached out to you in an attempt to rectify the situation." Accurate information: I reached out to the GM, and he did graciously speak with me about the matter. He did indicate a desire to rectify the situation, which I shared in common with him. Alas, he later told me that he would be unable to rectify the situation, because of certain action his Service Manager had already taken without his knowledge, which the GM wished he hadn't done, but could not undo. The GM believed at that point that his desire to support both his Service Manager and his customer would no longer be possible, due to the interim action of the Service Manager. Incredibly, I still wish to rectify the situation. But it's never been simply up to only me, and my attempts to do so have thus far failed.
