I have filed a report with the FTC for fraud and I suggest others do the same if they have similar experiences. On 12/23 I contacted the dealership about two Teslas they had on their website. I was g suggest others do the same if they have similar experiences. On 12/23 I contacted the dealership about two Teslas they had on their website. I was given an out-the-door price of $10,400 via text with John Williams and told they were still available. I was particularly interested in the black one. I made an appointment for 12/26 to view the car. On the morning of 12/26 I called to verify that the vehicle was still available since it was a 2 hour drive away from me. I was assured that the car was still available. I headed to the dealership and 15 minutes before arriving I texted John Williams again to confirm the out-the-door price and confirm the vehicle was still available. I was assured that the price had not changed and the vehicle was on the lot. I arrived at the dealership and spoke with a woman on a screen there as John Williams was not available and none of the in-person employees would show me the car, they directed me to the screen. After some time I was told the vehicle was not on the lot as they had moved it for Christmas since they had been closed but that it would be back later that day if I wanted to wait. I agreed to wait. In the meantime, my father suspected something was wrong and called them. After some pushing, they admitted the vehicle had been sold a while ago and they could show me other vehicles. This dealership is purposely using bait-and-switch tactics to get people to the dealership. Both of the Teslas they *still* have listed on their website are not available. More

Instead, they sit you in front of a computer to do a Zoom call with some guy who looks like he’s in a sweatshop—probably so they can pay below minimum wage. Why would I get out of bed and drive to a dealership just to talk to someone over Zoom who is probably not even in the country? People always say you should support local businesses, but this is one of those situations where I can’t wait for Amazon to start selling cars online. There’s no reason to go to a dealer anymore. At least back in the day, you could have a real conversation and a handshake. Now that basic human element has been outsourced. I traveled from North Carolina (about 600 miles) to check out a car I saw on their website. When I showed up, they told me the car wasn’t available—and it was still listed on the website while I was sitting there. Before coming, I called the dealership. No one answered, but I immediately received a text from someone introducing himself as Edward from Lions Pre-Owned. He proceeded to tell me the car I was interested in had a clean title, a clean Carfax, and gave me the out-the-door price. Then insisted I come by for a test drive. So I hopped on a plane and flew to Florida—only to be told the car wasn’t there. Then the guy on the Zoom call tried to convince me to look at other models. As I’m writing this, one day later (12/14/25), the car they said wasn’t available is still on their website. My guess is they list cars cheaply just to lure people in and then try to sell overpriced junk they don’t need. This company wasted my time, my money, and my trust. The entire experience was cold, transactional, and borderline deceptive. No accountability. No transparency. No respect for customers. More
I would give them a zero if I could. They knew I was driving 3.5 hours one way to look at a car. I get there and told to sit at a monitor and wait for help.... Then they tell me the car was having engine troubles and was took to get repaired. I was not happy and this was the most frustrating experience I have ever had!!! More
My experience with Lion’s Pre-Owned Cars has been one of the most unprofessional, evasive, and suspicious auto purchases I have ever encountered. I am writing this so the next person does not repeat my mist the most unprofessional, evasive, and suspicious auto purchases I have ever encountered. I am writing this so the next person does not repeat my mistake. I walked in with a firm budget and was upfront about what I could afford. Philip encouraged me to "just say" certain things on the finance application that were not accurate. That was the moment I should have walked away. It felt like I was being coached to mislead the lender. I was also promised the vehicle was in good condition and ready to drive. I received the car with an empty gas tank, no walkthrough, no service information, and no proof that the vehicle had been inspected. After driving it for about a month, maintenance lights began to appear which revealed the car had not actually been serviced or prepared for sale as claimed. Regarding payment, I agreed to defer only $500 for tag and title. I paid that amount directly to Brenda within the week. I requested a receipt and documentation multiple times, and still nothing was provided. They kept my license plate on hold and I had to return in person just to pick it up. Still no receipt, no final paperwork, and absolutely no proof of payment. Communication has been a nightmare. Calls are ignored or dropped. Messages are unanswered. I have spent months asking for the same documents that any reputable dealership would email immediately. Instead, I have been given excuses, silence, and confusion. To make matters worse, Gabriel (Financial Manager) later contacted me requesting a photo of my credit or debit card and pushed for TurboPass bank access links. No legitimate dealership should need photos of a bank card to complete paperwork after the sale. That request alone raised concern, and after I refused, communication nearly disappeared completely. As of now, I still have not received the full paperwork that I signed for, nor have I been provided registration status or any proof that my payment was properly recorded. This has been dragged out for months. Lion’s Pre-Owned Cars has shown a pattern of poor business practices, a lack of transparency, and serious communication issues. Nothing about this process has felt professional or trustworthy. If you choose to buy here, get every document up front, do not sign anything on a phone, demand proof of service and inspection, and do not hand over any bank or card images. Personally, I would not trust them with a bicycle, much less a car. Save yourself the stress and go elsewhere. More
When you arrive at the store, you’ll talk to an agent in a video call. They doesn’t have the car you’ve gone to see. They start showing terrible options. Dirty cars with the lights in the dash ON.
