She had spent a couple of days looking for cars on her own. She was interested in getting a hybrid, particularly a Toyota Prius. Most of the used Prius' were for sale up in the $11K to $13K range. Our plan was to stop at Lithia Nissan of Eugene to test drive a Honda Insight for a sale price of $9,800 that had been marked down from $10,800. We would then head up to Portland to look at Prius' for sale in the big city. We took the Honda Insight for a test drive with their salesman Steve Herron. The car ran fine and since the price was less than $10,000, I thought that we might keep this on our list to consider. Steve said that they could offer credit terms and asked if we wanted to have a credit check run. As he was getting our credit information, he asked if we would be interested in putting in a counter offer. I told him that we would be driving up to Portland to check on other cars and that I would just give him an unrealistic offer. He asked what would be the offer. So, I told him that was simply an offer to keep us from driving up to Portland and not a real offer - $8,000. He dutifully took the offer back to the "general manager" (I've always wondered if that person actually exists) and came back with a counter offer of $9,500. That was certainly not enough to keep me from driving up to Portland. Since my better half was interested in the car, she countered with $8,500. Steve took that price back to the mythical general manager. At that point, another Lithia employee came back with a counter offer of $9,300. That still wasn't enough. Then, surprisingly, he suggested that we split the difference between $8,500 and $9,300 for a sale price of $8,800. So, at that point, we took the deal. What impressed me about Steve Herron and the other Lithia employees was the manner in which they approached "two birds in the hand" rather than two birds out in the bush of Portland. I was also surprised at how far they came down in price on the car. Here's a hint about negotiating. The Lithia dealership is located half a mile from the University of Oregon's Auzten football stadium. These sales people are avid Duck fans (Steve - to his credit is a graduate of OSU). I somewhat deliberately my bright orange Beaver sweat shirt to go shopping for cars that day. So, you might want to wear the colors of OSU - orange and black to throw them off their track. More

He was able to help me find and buy a car all through talking on the phone. I live a couple hours from Eugene and had no way of getting there to take a look around. James answered several of my and my parent's phone calls throughout a period of about two weeks. He was very helpful and patient with each call. It's safe to say that I had a great first experience purchasing a car. No complaints here! More
This was my first experience buying a car, and it was definitely a good one. I felt like I was treated fairly throughout the process, and I was given a great deal on the car. Steve was very thorough in e definitely a good one. I felt like I was treated fairly throughout the process, and I was given a great deal on the car. Steve was very thorough in explaining and showing the different features of the vehicle during the test drive, and showed me other vehicles of the same model, with different options available. We ended up staying well past closing time, but I didn't feel like I was being rushed or pressured into anything at any time. I ended up purchasing the car that night, as it was everything and more that I was looking for, and at a price cheaper than I thought I would have realistically paid. Even after buying the car and having no further commitments to Lithia (I didn't do any financing), Steve called me to see how I liked my car, and made himself available if I have any questions on its features. This was a great car-buying experience! Steve and Lithia definitely have my recommendation and future business! More

I stopped by this dealership without an appointment, and was promptly greeted by a salesman. After he retrieved the key - which took about 5-10 minutes - from inside and allowed us to look at the interior, was promptly greeted by a salesman. After he retrieved the key - which took about 5-10 minutes - from inside and allowed us to look at the interior, we started to talk about color options and whether the exact car I wanted could be brought in. I was told to wait where I was, and after 10 minutes, he came back and told me they had one in Portland. Then... the waiting started. I don't remember the exact series of questions, but I waited, and waited, and waited for information. When we started to talk pricing, he would "be right back" and leave. At one point, another salesperson came and started to talk to me, a "finance manager", but I was nowhere near ready to buy. After about a 15 minute wait, the original salesperson - who was going to "see what he could do" - came back and threw out a price $1000 off of what I said my maximum was, which was already well above the prices I already was aware of from other dealers in Oregon that I had researched, Beyond that, he didn't have any other financial information that necessitated his 15-minute exploit into the recesses of the building - and left me to imagine he was kicking up his feet in the back watching t.v. in the break room, chuckling over whether or not I would be duped by the game they were playing. Overall - I was waiting, and waiting, and waiting for basically nothing and felt as if I were being played. I had been to many dealerships at that point, and none of them treated me as horribly as they did. Today, I don't care if they have my perfect car for the exact price I'd want to spend, I wouldn't do it. Do not buy from these guys - you won't be treated as a person, and I'm shocked that this "game" is still so obviously run at this dealership. The guy was nice enough on the outside, but the entire experience was appallingly awful. I will never go back there. Good luck! More
In talking with Ken the Service Manager about the issues we were having with our "Friday Built Murano" the entire team at Lithia Nissan did their best to offer us what was going to work best! Knowing that we were having with our "Friday Built Murano" the entire team at Lithia Nissan did their best to offer us what was going to work best! Knowing that Lithia has business to do along with our family having needs to be met, it was a great experience and I truly want to thank Ken for looking out for our family and the time that we have spent, not to mention the Rewards credits......THANK YOU! James, JJ, and Chris were all very accommodating to work through all the details of ensuring that our family was placed in a vehicle that meets our needs and did not exceed our financial means with ensuring we had an extended warranty! Jan. 28, 2013 Review of car sale in tent sales event held by Lithia Nissan of Eugene in Corvallis on Nov. 8 2012 2006 Kia Sportage $12,829.94 with trade-in allowance of $4,000/mileage 77,480 I was told tha by Lithia Nissan of Eugene in Corvallis on Nov. 8 2012 2006 Kia Sportage $12,829.94 with trade-in allowance of $4,000/mileage 77,480 I was told that there was no sticker price on the cars because they were being sold for “balance owed” to the bank. No evidence of that balance owed was ever produced at the sales event or at the Eugene dealership. 1. The names of the agents who sold me the car and with whom I spoke the next morning November 9 about returning my trade-in car are Hopkins & Raines. They are out-of-state salesmen hired by Lithia to sell at these used vehicle events. J.J. Hunsaker is the manager on site who is an actual Lithia employee and oversees the sales contracts. When I went back to the event on November 9, I was not offered the opportunity to talk with Mr. Hunsaker. My research online that next morning showed a dealer selling a same year and model car with 100,598 miles at $7,995. 2. On November 10 I visited the Lithia Nissan dealership in Eugene with a friend and spoke to a manager there. We had done a Kelley Blue book search online and found the suggested retail price for a 2006 Kia Sportage with 66,000 miles in excellent condition to be $10,735. The Sportage I was sold has 77,480 miles on it. 3. The Lithia manager told me I could have spoken to Mr. Hunsaker about the deal. I explained to the Lithia manager that I had been rushed due to a commitment I had in town that evening, that the heater was not working in the tent where I spoke to the salesmen for a couple of hours, and that I had no opportunity to research the price of similar cars in my area since I didn’t have Smart Phone/Internet access during the negotiation. When I did research the price the next morning at home, I came to the conclusion that I had agreed to pay too high a price for the car. I went to return the Kia Spectra without success and I was not given the information that I could speak to a Lithia manager on site. I felt I was taken advantage of. The Lithia manager in Eugene looked over the figures on the contract and said he didn’t think I paid too much. 4. One of the responses I received from a bank contacted to finance the loan came from JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. with a counter-offer “amount: $9,152, terms 60.” I’m still not convinced that this is a legitimate way of selling cars to the public. My experience was that conditions produced pressure to decide and sign without due access to tools for making a realistic assessment of value of the purchased vehicle for debt incurred. BUYER BEWARE of Lithia Nissan’s tent sales events. More

After looking at several dealerships for a small car with great gas mileage we decided to trade with Lithia Nissan based solely on their customer service. Colt was friendly, professional and understood th great gas mileage we decided to trade with Lithia Nissan based solely on their customer service. Colt was friendly, professional and understood that we were firm in looking only at a small, affordable car that we will drive for a couple of years and turn over to our teen. He gave us time to make a decision and offered a team member's name, Billy Krebs, to work with if he was not available. Billy allowed us test drive a couple of vehicles, again with no pressure, and he too was friendly and professional. Colt followed up with us with a phone call. I will say that no other salesperson from the other dealerships did that. Dennis handled the financial end for us and getting through the paperwork. He got us through that part, again in a friendly and professional manner, and were out the door in our zippy, little Versa. More
I am extremely pleased with my new Nissan Rogue and Steve Herron's service as well as Chris in finance and the service team manager in the back. I have never been given so much time and dedication by a sale Herron's service as well as Chris in finance and the service team manager in the back. I have never been given so much time and dedication by a salesperson at any other dealership. I came in because of receiving a flyer in the mail and just wanted to look. I personally have always purchased from Kendal (except while living in Arizona), but after the service I have received from Steve and the other departments, we will be shopping first at Lithia. More
