Terrible customer service First off we love the Passat but the customer service is terrible! When we test drove the car the gas light came on ( no biggie ) we ended up buying First off we love the Passat but the customer service is terrible! When we test drove the car the gas light came on ( no biggie ) we ended up buying the car and it was late by the time we got all of the paperwork done. Thank goodness there is a gas station across the street! No gas in the Passat when we drove off the lot. Before we drove off I noticed there were no floor mats. Trey said he would order them. After several texts and call to Trey we finally got them. Along with not having floor mats the first aid kit was missing also. I know this seems petty but I paid for it it was on the sticker of the car. I have talked to Trey, Brandon, Scott, and the finance guy several times. I have been told everything from we will have to order it to it’s in the parts department to we will just take one from another car to the manager is taking care of it. It is know December 11th and I have yet to see or here from anyone. I guess even though I have paid for the first aid kit I just figured im not going to receive it. The next thing is we have had to redo the paperwork 4 time now. What’s irritating is all of the trips back to the dealership we have made due to the poor communication and what seems like the lack of knowledge of all of the papers we signed. If l could change the first review I definitely would. Like I said at the beginning we love the Passat but this whole car buying experience at VW of Des Moines was not a good one! I would recommend buying a VW but not from this dealership. Thanks Jeff More
routine service I frequent VW of DSM for my oil changes in my cars. While I was in this time for an oil change, I had them change the fuel filter due to the weather I frequent VW of DSM for my oil changes in my cars. While I was in this time for an oil change, I had them change the fuel filter due to the weather getting colder. I typically do all the maintenance on my own cars, but with the purchased for life oil changes I have that done at the dealership. Cheyenne was quick and prompt to get me in and out. The service was completed in a very timey manner and was promptly notified when done. After picking my car up and getting home, when I exited my car I could smell fuel. I popped the hood to notice that the fuel filter housing was covered in fuel, passenger side inner fender, belt drive area, and lower engine cover all had fuel on them. I grabbed some brake-clean and rags. I cleaned the area then test drove the car. The filter housing was not leaking, it was not cleaned after servicing. For the hour of labor I was charged to change the fuel filter (actual 30 min task), I shouldn't have to clean up spilled fuel in the engine bay. I am in no way unpleased with the work done, just being honest. More

I feel like customer #1 I purchased two manual transmission, diesel golf's and had them serviced at this dealer since 2005. My 2010 model still feels like new to me- especial I purchased two manual transmission, diesel golf's and had them serviced at this dealer since 2005. My 2010 model still feels like new to me- especially each time I get it back from being serviced here. I know my car better since the service department does such a great job explaining everything that comes up. The parts department is always super helpful with little items as well. The shuttle service is awesome and I don't miss beat from my schedule on days when I take my car in for service. My last few visits were just for factory recall updates and oil changes (I have lifetime oil package) so nothing out of pocket for these last couple visits but still get amazing service! More
out of state customer with emergency need for service I was traveling in Iowa visiting friends and experienced a check engine light as well as the vehicle shifting in safe mode and only allow me to drive I was traveling in Iowa visiting friends and experienced a check engine light as well as the vehicle shifting in safe mode and only allow me to drive at 45 mph. My family and I where planned to head back to Michigan in only a few days and we were desperate for assistance. Perry in service did and outstanding job in juggling the calendar to get us in and fixed up so we could make it home. He checked in on me several times while I waited to ensure I was aware of the status of the repair and the timing. I couldn't be more thankful to him and the service staff at Lithia Motors. 2017 VW GTI water pump repair I was very pleased with the service I received at Lithia VW. Poor Customer Service & Communication After the Sale I drove an hour and a half each way and bought a used vehicle from Lithia. I test drove in the evening with Caleb who was knowledgeable about the vehicle even though it wasn't a Volkswagen brand. We had an agreed upon price for my trade in but then Brandon hammered me over a difference of $250 so I agreed to the change as it was late and I was the last person in the dealership on a Tuesday night. I also only received 1 set of keys to the vehicle. In the morning I realized the front driver's side and passenger side windows were illegally tinted too dark and I had no front floor mats under the plastic covering. I reached out Lithia about both and they were going to charge me to remove the tint and they had some floor mats there but didn't know if they were to my vehicle. I paid $40 locally to have the tint removed the next day to avoid getting a ticket. My wife drove the vehicle to Lithia the next day to get the floor mats but they weren't to my vehicle. My wife said she had never been talked down to or treated so bad by anyone in sales in her life. They basically told us we bought a used vehicle and it comes as is. After several phone call discussions, Caleb said he talked to his GM who agreed to purchase us floor mats and he talked to the previous vehicle owner who had the other set of keys and she would return them so Lithia could mail to us.I have had the vehicle for a month and a half and have not received any front floor mats or spare keys and haven't heard a word from Lithia besides a text asking if floor mats have arrived. Throughout the buying process the most important thing to Lithia was their survey and giving them all 5's. As upset as my wife and I were with the process, we waited to take the survey until our customer service was finished to see if they could improve. I have not received any floor mats, a spare set of keys and they also took over 2 weeks to pay off my trade in. I also haven't heard a word from Lithia since my purchase. I should have bought local and received better customer service and follow up. Giving 3 stars is being generous for our buying experience. More
