I purchased a 2015 S60 at Lovering Nashua October 2016 with 50K miles with a maintenance contract 4yrs/150K miles. I have serviced my car at Lovering every 10K miles. After the 60Kservice, I started bur with 50K miles with a maintenance contract 4yrs/150K miles. I have serviced my car at Lovering every 10K miles. After the 60Kservice, I started burning 1 quart of oil between service visits. They did an oil flush at the 70K service. At the 90K service still burning oil they change the flame trap and said to monitor. I kept calling to say I was still adding oil between service visits none of my calls were noted in my records. I was told that was normal for this engine which seemed odd to me until I got a letter from Volvo USA. In February 2023 Volvo USA sends out a extended warrantee 8yrs/100K miles for excessive oil consumption. I had 165K so that excludes me. I started looking up S60 issues on different Volvo forums. What I found was a Volvo technical journal TJ31216 dated April 2016 stating engines 2.0L 2013-2016 have a defective piston ring that will cause excessive oil consumption. So I purchased my car in November 2016 and no one at Lovering told me about this issue. I would not have bought the car knowing within a year I would need Rings or the engine replaced. But to have a maintenance contract for 4yrs/150K and Lovering did not repaired the engine after many oil consumption complaints is unbelievable. With 170K now I burn 1 quart of oil every 1000 miles. Volvo's email address Vcnacare@volvoforlife.com. That is an oxymoronic "Volvo For Life". My 1991 740 is still running and not burning oil. The S60 will be in the junk yard before the 740. More
The reason I love my Volvo’s is having an awesome team to take care of them. When I need something, I go to Lovering Volvo to get it done. I’m not the type to just hand the keys and let them go but I will sa take care of them. When I need something, I go to Lovering Volvo to get it done. I was involved in an accident and my 2020 Volvo XC90 was totaled. I immediately called Nick McIntyre, who was our salesperson 3 months ago when we purchased a S60 for my husband. Let me start by saying this car dealer is extremely welcoming! When we entered the dealership, we were met with smiles and asked how they could help (they even offered us snacks and coffee)! Dan Carlen, the Sales Manager, and Brianna Tompkins, the Business Manager, were particularly accommodating of a tight family schedule. We have had our Volvos services through Lovering Nashua for years, and we would not consider purchasing a Volvo from any other dealer.
