I brought my 2014 Chrysler 300 with 53,000 miles in for service with a check engine light on and a few rough shifts. Tech diagnosed transmission code problem. Only solution offered was a transmission repla service with a check engine light on and a few rough shifts. Tech diagnosed transmission code problem. Only solution offered was a transmission replacement at a cost of $7,500 because it is a "sealed" unit. I declined to spend that amount of money on an older car. I reclaimed my car a few days ago. The check engine light is no longer on and the car has shifted fine. I plan to have the transmission checked at a transmission repair shop. From my conversation with them, however, repairs are common on "sealed" units. I believe Lucas could have been more forthcoming on possible transmission repair options. Also the replacement cost for a new transmission seems outrageous. More
