We ended up with a car, and it went OK I guess? We walked in the door and were greeted right away by an eager salesperson, "Country". He showed us a 2008 Prius, which we did end up biting the bullet on. However, he didn't seem super knowledgeable about the car, and had a hard time answering our questions about it- like, how old are the tires? What should we expect to have to repair next on this age of a car? He also seemed more interested in showing us photos of his kids rather than letting us drive the conversation and ask questions. In finance, our loan was handled by Keith. He talked a lot, but mostly about how he was trying to get us a deal, and no so much about the details of the deal. It was hard getting a word in to ask about what the terms of our loan would be. I was a little annoyed with how he didn't allow us to ask questions and he seemed to be more interested in the sound of his own voice than in our concerns. We felt a little like the wool was being pulled over our eyes. We like the car we were given but are now discovering that it makes some strange noises- perhaps noises we would have heard if our sales person would have just stopped talking and let us listen to the car while we were driving it? We may be taking the car back to see what they can do with our 30 day warranty. We'll see what our mechanic says... to be continued. More

Beware of Clerical Errors I thought I had a positive experience with a lease buy-out and buying a used vehicle. My sales guy said they would take over what we owe on the lease I thought I had a positive experience with a lease buy-out and buying a used vehicle. My sales guy said they would take over what we owe on the lease, they would buy it out from the leasing company, we'd walk way free and clear, and I feel we got a fair price on the used vehicle. What I learned, six days later, in an email, was something completely different. The email informed me that there was a minus sign placed somewhere it shouldn't have been, which changed the entire deal by over $4000! I tried calling the finance guy the day the email came, there was no returned call. I tried calling him again the next day, there was no returned call. I got a hold of my sales guy who did some digging and confirmed that there was a "clerical error" (which the dealership is protected from, by the way), and we do in fact owe more money, our payments will go up by about 20%, and we do have to come in and sign new paperwork. Of course, we could unravel the deal, which means I take my leased vehicle back, which has been in their possession for a week now, and I'm responsible for what may have happened to it in that timeframe. I'm over a barrel - either I take on the risk or I take on the higher payments. The "clerical error" happened "upstairs" before the numbers even made to the sales guy when he presented the buy out to us. The person who made the error didn't call us, her boss didn't call us, I got an email from the finance guy. My reaction to this huge mistake would have been completely different if I had just gotten an "I'm so sorry" at the very beginning. Instead I had to demand that somebody from the accountable department come speak to me (I got somebody from a different department). Instead I got a bunch of excuses. There's a complete lack of accountability at this dealership, and it's proven by the fact that they protect themselves from mistakes and have no policy or procedure in place to compensate the customer.
