I had some spare time Firday afternoon so I decided to stop at the Honda dealership in Mankato. I had spoken to two dealerships in Mpls/St. Paul and they were close to what they could do for discounts and trade-in value. Luther Mankato Honda exceeded those numbers buy a lot. So I had left my home in western Wisconsin on a Friday morning with no intention of buying vehicle that weekend and came home Saturday evening with a new Honda. :-) I felt very comfortable and there was no high pressure sales pitch. Worth the Road Trip Went there to test drive a 2011 Chrysler Town & Country; found out after I arrived that it had sold already. Found a different vehicle (2010 Volkswagen Routan) on their lot that turned out to be a better fit for my price range. I even had enough budget left over to get the "Minnesota Pack" protection option. Michelle was as interested in educating me on car buying and car pricing as she was in making the sale. When I went to pick up the Routan, Tommy went to get it out of the detail shop; he had had it put there earlier in the day so it was protected from the heavy weather until I arrived. It was definitely worth the 90-minute road trip. My only negative comment is that the listing for the 2011 Chrysler I went to test drive was still showing as actively for sale on carsoup.com AND on the Luther Honda website for a full 7 days after I was told it had sold. More

I floated what I was willing to pay and he accepted. He made everything so easy I just drove 200+ miles from Des Moines Iowa! Joe and Chris (finance guy) were ready, had us in and out in record time while explaining everything and being very laid back. It was like working as a team instead of as opponents. They got me a better rate for financing than my own credit union by a lot, and just made the overall experience good enough that I have already told all of my friends and family that if they ever need a car, they should go here.
