I have purchased 2 VW cars and 2 BMWs in the last 5 years from various dealerships across the Twin Cities and now an Audi from Park Place in Rochester. I really wanted the car I purchased. That's never the best place to start I suppose, but that's the only reason I ended up purchasing a car from Park Place. Given that they sell all the brands I purchase I had hoped to develop a relationship with this dealer. There was no part of the process that went smoothly. Follow up by the salesman prior to the day of purchase, negotiating the price for both the car we wanted to purchase and our trade in, knowledge of the market, knowledge of the vehicle we were purchasing, time spent waiting around doing nothing, it was all frankly a disaster. Our salesman was a flake prior to our arriving with limited communication, apparently wanting to sell a car by text, forcing me to call the dealership to track him down (the phone range 8 times at the dealer and then it hung up on me, so I had to call the dealership back twice), he seemed inexperienced to the point I thought it might be his first week and in negotiating the price of the car seemed flustered and unable to function. He made untrue statements, contradicted himself, and did no research. As an example there was damage to the car he was unaware of, yet he claimed time and time again that it was included in pricing the vehicle. He seemed obsessed with what Kelly Blue Book was telling him instead of actually doing market research making him appear ignorant and lazy. We asked several times to speak to his GM, and he refused each time. We then waited 2 hours after agreeing to the price to meet with the finance manager, we just sat there doing nothing. We spent over 4 hours from when we walked in the door until we left with the car, when it could have been done in half the time. Again, I really wanted the car, the specific model and feature set were not widely available, and it's the only reason we didn't walk out. Our experience was so poor the salesmen literally said "This wasn't the best experience you've probably had," on our way out the door. I can't see a situation where I would possibly return. More
